The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, October 6 Recap – Ashland’s Fake Letter, Stole Camilla’s Estate – Billy Finds Gaines

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 6, reveals that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will confess to a fake letter that helped him steal Camilla Rhodes’ estate. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will also find Jesse Gaines Jr. (Jamison Jones), so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.

At Chancellor Park, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will be ready for her trip on the jet with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), but she won’t be sure how she’s actually going to get the dress in front of Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) yet.

After Adam schools Sally on the difference between a villa and a palazzo, he’ll admit he’s never actually been to the palazzo owned by the Newmans. Sally will suggest they can explore it together, but Adam will get all snippy about how they aren’t going as a couple. He’ll warn Sally that she’s not his date and won’t be sleeping in the same room with him.

Sally will suggest she was only kidding and will think Adam needs to relax since she understands the ground rules. She’ll chuckle over Adam’s healthy ego and assure him that she’ll make sure no one gets the wrong impression on this trip.

After Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) arrives and gets updates on Sally’s travel arrangements, Adam will dash off to do something. That’ll leave Chloe to warn Sally that she should rethink this. Sally will defend her decision to tag along on the Newman jet, but Chloe won’t seem so sure this won’t turn into something romantic.

At Society, Billy will run into Nate Hastings (Sean Kanan) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) at Society. They’ll discuss the wedding and how Billy still thinks there’s time for Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to back out. Despite Elena and Nate’s approval of Ashland, Billy won’t think the man is who he says he is.

Nate and Elena will remind Billy that he’s got a mistake-filled past of his own, which Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) doesn’t hold against him. Billy will think the difference is he’s been open and honest about that past. Besides, Billy won’t mind being a hypocrite when Victoria and the kids are at stake. He’ll vow to make sure Victoria has all the facts and take off following a text about something important.

Later, Adam will text with his Newman minion and learn Billy spoke with Nate and Elena earlier. That’ll lead to Adam speaking to Elena and Nate as well. He’ll pretend he’s there to meet with Billy about a wedding truce and will learn his rival’s still very much against it happening.

In Tuscany, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will insist it’s time to come clean about what he’s been keeping from Victoria. He’ll want Victoria to understand that she’ll be complicit if she chooses not to reveal what he’s done – and he’ll trust that she won’t. Victoria will confirm that this involves a crime and will insist she wants to know everything.

Ashland will explain how much it meant to him when Camilla Rhodes took him under her wing. He thought it meant a lot to Camilla as well since she had no kids or family and her husband had died. Camilla treated Ashland like the son she never had and helped map out a future for him in the media realm that never would’ve manifested otherwise.

“And then it all went to hell,” Ashland will admit. He’ll talk about how he expected there to be some provision in Camilla’s will for him when she died, but there wasn’t.

Jesse Gaines Sr. was the attorney involved with the will, so he informed Ashland that Camilla stipulated her fortune would go to frivolous charities – just things Camilla had gotten a kick out of while she was alive like a cat sanctuary.

Camilla left a letter behind explaining that she didn’t think Ashland needed to rely on an inheritance and had faith that he could make it on his own. However, Ashland was hurt and angry over Camilla’s decision. Jesse Gaines Sr. was as well since he’d taken on a paternal role in Ashland’s life.

After stewing over the injustice for a while, Ashland and Jesse came to realize they could fix it. Jesse forged a new letter supposedly written by Camilla before she died to revise the will and override its original provisions.

In that letter, they made it so Ashland inherited all of Camilla’s estate, which he then used to buy the two news stations and start his media empire. Victoria will reel as she realizes it was all built on lies and stolen funds. She’ll also learn that Jesse Gaines Jr. found the first letter – the real one stipulating that Ashland receive no inheritance – and used it to blackmail Ashland for years.

Ashland will explain that Gaines panicked over his gravy train coming to an end and demanded a lump sum. He’ll be sorry for lying to Victoria about the wedding surprise and will admit he’s not the one who paid Gaines off. “Your father beat me to it,” Ashland will confess.

Ashland will note that Victor made it clear he did it for Victoria and said to call it a wedding gift. Victoria will feel like there has to be something more, so Ashland will guess maybe this was about protecting the image of the Newman-Locke merger, too. He’ll also think maybe Victor takes some delight in having leverage over him, but he’ll mostly trust that Victor truly wants to ensure their happy future.

That said, Ashland will warn Victoria that the threat hasn’t been eliminated. Gaines still has the letter as well as a grudge since his father would compare him unfavorably to Ashland right to his face. Now that Ashland’s days are numbered, he’ll feel like Gaines probably thinks it’s now or never on taking him down.

Victoria will point out that if that happens, it’s going to blow back on her company. “Our company,” Ashland will insist. Victoria will insist this could turn into a huge scandal of fraud, conspiracy and grand theft. She’ll acknowledge that she could indeed be complicit, but Ashland will think they’re safe from legal repercussions since the statute of limitations expired long ago.

The scandal would be more about Ashland’s reputation being tarnished along with Locke Communications. Since Ashland and Victoria’s companies have merged, Ashland will agree that Newman would face a fallout.

Victoria won’t even know what to say and will struggle to process all this, but Ashland will want to know what’s in her heart. He’ll ask if Victoria thinks she can still go through with marrying him knowing what he did.

Victoria will feel like she has to focus on thinking like a CEO right now, but Victor will be more concerned about what’s happening between the two of them. He won’t want to pressure Victoria to go through with the wedding, but she’ll insist she never should’ve been put in this position in the first place.

Ashland will be deeply sorry for what Victoria’s going through and will ask if there’s any chance they can work through this. Victoria will stand there in silence looking angry and pensive.

Back in Genoa City, the head of Billy’s investigative team will have Gaines waiting for him. Gaines will admit Victor gave him a better offer, but Billy will want to reopen negotiations. Since Victor won’t be happy if Gaines goes back on his word and tells Billy what he knows, he’ll want to be sure Billy’s security team can offer him protection.

Billy will note that if Gaines is concerned about Victor’s reaction, there must be a deeper reason he’s doing this. He’ll think Gaines wants the story to go public, so Gaines will admit this is indeed personal. “And you’ll find out why after we make our deal – not before,” Gaines will insist.

Billy will deduce that Ashland and Gaines Sr. cooked up a possibly illegal deal that gave Ashland the seed money for those two news stations. Gaines will assure Billy that he’s on the right track. He’ll vow to tell Billy everything he wants to know once he’s guaranteed security and gets his money.

Back with Adam, he’ll cross paths with Sally at Crimson Lights before a phone call with Victor. Adam will mention Billy getting a trip earlier and will feel like he’s still plotting against the wedding. Victor will admit Gaines slipped through his security team’s fingers and will have a feeling “Billy Boy” had something to do with it.

Adam will promise to stay on top of this, so it’s good to see the Newman men working together! We’ll keep you posted as other Y&R details come in.
