The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for the week of December 27-31 teases that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will face a date night decision while Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) face the potential of a ruined friendship.
Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will continue to tackle the guilt and trauma of what he’s been through, but he’ll cross paths with Adam and get some advice about how to bond with Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor.
Unfortunately, Chance will deal with more challenges since he’s just not used to being a dad yet. Devon is ahead of the game since he’s had a chance to connect with Dominic on a deeper level.
After Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) spells out all the reasons why Devon deserves a bigger presence in the boy’s life, Devon will swoop in and save Chance from a daddy disaster. He’ll then push for shared custody that’ll allow him to keep Dominic at the penthouse on a regular basis.
Devon will suggest adjusting the legal agreement so that he has set times when he’ll keep Dominic overnight and unsupervised. Of course, Devon previously planned to play sort of a fun uncle role and watch Dominic be raised from afar.
We can’t forget that Abby didn’t ask Devon for help making a baby. Devon volunteered because Abby was his friend and he wanted to help make HER parenthood dreams come true.
This has morphed into something else that’ll inevitably put Devon and Abby’s friendship to the test. It’s the kind of thing that could ruin their relationship as pals if they aren’t careful.
While Abby contemplates the shared custody idea with trepidation, Adam will have multiple offers on the table for New Year’s Eve.
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) would love the opportunity to squeeze in more family time with Adam and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), though she wouldn’t mind time on her own with Adam either.
However, “lone wolf” Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will deliver a casual invitation in hopes of not feeling so lonely on this special night.
After spending Christmas by herself, Sally will really be hoping for some New Year’s Eve company – particularly if it involves a chance to get closer to Adam.
Adam would never call either of these situations a date, but come on! He’ll be deciding which beautiful woman he wants to spend the evening with, so that’s awfully date-ish if you ask us.
It’s possible Adam will end up splitting his time between Sally and Chelsea, but who will he be with when the clock strikes midnight?
Time will tell, but we do know Chelsea will make a confession that she hopes will make a difference with Adam and perhaps get her a step closer to the “Chadam” reunion she wants.
While Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) officially moves in with Nate and voices her excitement, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will be excited over their own next chapter.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will give Tessa and Mariah the keys to the apartment above Crimson Lights, but that’s only part of what the future holds.
Mariah and Tessa will throw Sharon for a loop when they reveal they’re finally in sync about bringing a child into their lives.
While Sharon weighs in with her therapist hat on, Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) will force Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) into a pact.
After Victoria figures out Billy’s not really going off the rails, she’ll have some demands if Billy wants her to keep her mouth shut.
Billy will meet those demands after talking it over with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), who certainly won’t like Billy’s ex being privy to his trap.
Nevertheless, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Lily and Billy will do whatever they have to do.
Victoria will be holding all the cards, so Billy and Lily will just have to trust that she can stay on their side against Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
As for Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi), Y&R spoilers say he’ll deliver a shocker to Victor and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
Ashland has some health updates coming up, so Nikki and Victor may be on the receiving end along with Victoria.
There’s a good chance Ashland will have wonderful news, but is it really so wonderful if it’s all based on lies?
Ashland’s condition may not even be legit since we know he’s been keeping a secret since well before the wedding.
Finally, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will sit down to make their New Year’s resolutions.
They’ll have one in particular that they’ll really hope to pull off in the year ahead, so stay tuned to see what they have in mind.
If you haven’t heard by now, Y&R will wrap up the week with a preemption on Friday, December 31. Just remember that as you make any New Year’s Eve plans!
