The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview for the week of July 5-9 teases that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will blackmail Dr. Hedges (Michael Bofshever) while Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) sobs to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). As for Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan), he just won’t be able to quit hanging around Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway)!
For starters, Chelsea will summon Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and argue that she found out Dr. Hedges is NOT on her side.
Chloe will look concerned as Chelsea insists she’ll have to force Dr. Hedges’ hand if she wants to get out of there anytime soon.
Of course, Chloe will be in a tight spot since the last thing she wants is for Chelsea to turn on her. Chelsea could rat Chloe out and send her to prison, so Chloe will really have no choice but to help her unhinged friend.
As a result, Chloe will leave her phone behind so that Chelsea can record Dr. Hedges admitting he works for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
That’ll give Chelsea the leverage she needs and force Dr. Hedges to cooperate unless he wants a prison stint of his own.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack will be taken aback by Phyllis’ display of emotion.
“There is nobody in the world that cheers me up like Jack Abbott. I mean, there is nobody in the world with that Jack Abbott charm,” Phyllis says as her voice cracks in the preview video.
Jack will naturally wonder if Phyllis is all right, but perhaps she’ll just be struggling due to Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) pain.
Phyllis always hates to see her daughter suffer and may need to lean on Jack for support.
However, Phyllis wouldn’t be Phyllis if she wasn’t scheming a little bit.
We know Phyllis will meddle in Jack’s personal affairs in the week ahead, so she may steal all his attention and leave Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) with none of it!
Finally, Stitch will surprise Abby once again when he corners her at Society. He’ll wonder what kind of friend he’d be if he left without saying goodbye.
Abby will smile in response, but Stitch’s behavior is becoming somewhat obsessive and creepy.
There’ll be some other troubling warning signs during the week of July 5-9 – like Stitch observing Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and her baby bump through the window on the Chancellor property.
