The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview for the week of September 6-10 teases that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will admit Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) was essentially a Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) replacement. Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor will also get a welcome home party, but it won’t be much of a celebration for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes).
For starters, Phyllis will sit down with Jack and rant about all the drama Sally’s caused. Although Phyllis will be glad Jack is finally free, she won’t understand what drew him to Sally in the first place.
Phyllis will push Jack to enlighten her on Sally’s appeal, but she won’t expect the confession that comes next!
“I don’t know who you were hoping she’d turn out to be,” Phyllis says about Sally in Y&R’s weekly preview video. “You want an honest answer? I guess I was hoping she’d turn into you,” Jack admits in response.
Jack saw the potential for Sally to be a younger version of Phyllis with that same red hair, feisty attitude and penchant for scheming.
Phyllis may not like being compared to a woman she hates, but Jack will surely clarify that no one could ever truly replace Phyllis – certainly not Sally who didn’t live up to what he hoped for.
In fact, it looks like this conversation will set up yet another confession. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack will profess his love to Phyllis, so their friendship is about to get more complicated in the coming episodes.
Meanwhile, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will hold Dominic as she welcomes him to his new home and family.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will all be guests at this welcome-to-the-Chancellor-mansion bash.
Mariah and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will naturally be on hand as well, but Tessa will spend most of her time trying to console a distraught Mariah.
Although Mariah will do her best to hide her pain, Tessa will pick up on how hard this is. Watching Abby with the baby will add to Mariah’s heartbreak, so Tessa will comfort her however she can.
Finally, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will complain to Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) about another run-in with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Victoria points out that Billy seems bound and determined to find something damning in Ashland’s past, but Ashland may lie that there’s nothing to find – nothing earth-shattering anyway.
Of course, that’s not true at all based on the hints Y&R has offered. There’s a deep, dark secret just waiting to be discovered – and it could be enough for Victoria to walk away from Ashland for good!
