Although Eric and Nicole Walker-Hernandez (Arianne Zucker) seem poised to reunite, it won’t be that simple for these exes.
It looks like Jada Hunter’s (Elia Cantu) pregnancy is going to complicate the situation – at least for a while.
That could knock Eric out of his second chance with Nicole if he decides to stand by Jada.
It’s easy to imagine Eric wanting to give this child a united two-parent home, so he may put his own feelings for Nicole aside.
However, Jada is a newer character who was thrown together with Eric rather haphazardly.
Are Days writers really going to link Jada and Eric permanently through a kid?
This baby seems more like a romantic obstacle than anything else.
That could mean Jada’s going to face a miscarriage once this unborn child has served his or her purpose.
Of course, that could be a crushing loss for Eric, especially since he already lost “Mickey” aka Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) when the baby switch was revealed.
That was on top of the death of Eric and Sarah Horton’s (Linsey Godfrey) real baby.
Jada and Eric could be torn apart by grief if she loses this child now. It just doesn’t feel like Eric and Jada are a DOOL pairing that’s meant to last.
If Nicole ends up trying again with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) or lands in another romance by then, that could make matters even worse.
Eric might feel all alone and turn back alcohol for comfort.
Days spoilers say Eric will head down a difficult path, so he’ll make some surprising choices – perhaps rather poor ones due to his tough circumstances.
Is a drunken downward spiral in Eric’s future?
Regardless, Eric will face some curveballs and struggle to cope. It sounds like Eric could face another battle with the bottle, so that could lead to trouble.
