Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, August 15, reveals that Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) fixated on a Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) obituary clue while Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) rejected Li Shin’s (Remington Hoffman) ring request. Here’s how all the Days drama went down.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) asked for Maggie Kiriakis’ (Suzanne Rogers) advice on which shirt to wear for his evening with two bisexual women.
Maggie learned it wasn’t a “date-date” and urged Alex to respect them enough not to impose a label before picking a shirt.
Meanwhile, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) was all dressed up and ready for the bar, but Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) was still in a plain T-shirt.
Allie thought it was fine, but Chanel pointed out they were going out with Alex and acted like her girlfriend should choose a fancier wardrobe.
After Allie questioned whether Chanel was lusting after Alex, Chanel insisted she wanted to look nice for Allie, not him.
Allie kissed Chanel and decided she’d go change into something nicer, too.
Next on Monday’s DOOL episode, Chanel and Allie recapped their romantic history for Alex at the bistro.
Alex wanted a recreation of Allie and Chanel’s first kiss, but they were unamused and acted like maybe they should just leave.
However, Alex offered an apology and got them to reveal the rest of the story – including the part about Chanel marrying Allie’s twin brother, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).
After Allie and Chanel discussed how they got together, they locked lips and gave transfixed Alex quite the view.
In Li’s suite, Gabi came in as he was wrapping up a call with Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton).
Gabi assumed Li was talking to his mom again, but he suggested it was just business.
After Li gave Gabi a pep talk about handling Ava DiMera (Tamara Braun), he took her to bed.
Li enjoyed getting passionate with Gabi, but he was also glad to know she was open to a deeper relationship.
With that in mind, Li thought it was time for Gabi to stop wearing her dead husband’s ring around her neck.
Once Gabi confided about her grief, she hoped she could someday open her heart again like she’d done with Stefan.
Until then, Gabi wanted to keep wearing the ring. Li claimed that was fine since Stefan was dead and wasn’t a threat to them.
Back with Allie and Chanel at the bistro, they thought Alex needed a woman of his own.
Alex found it difficult to nail down a type since he liked all sorts of women and seemed intrigued when he spotted Gabi nearby.
At the DiMera mansion, Johnny took Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) spot at the table after she bailed on dinner.
EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) got updates on Johnny and Ava’s naked run-in earlier before talk turned to her rushed marriage.
Johnny eventually pushed EJ to shut up since he was being insensitive to Ava, who was still grieving the loss of Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash).
After EJ stepped out, Ava thanked Johnny for defending her – and Johnny offered gratitude since she’d had his back with Allie, too.
EJ returned as Johnny took a phone call on Monday’s Days episode, so that gave EJ a chance to apologize to Ava.
Although Ava acted like she knew EJ meant no harm, she gave him a suspicious look.
Speaking of suspicions, Anna had plenty when she showed up at Jake’s old apartment with Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to see Kristen.
Tony wished Kristen was living at the mansion or at least somewhere better than this dump, but Kristen acted like she felt closer to Jake there and refused to compromise with EJ.
Anna then found Kristen’s tablet and realized she’d been looking at Stefan’s obituary instead of Jake’s.
This clearly set off some alarm bells, but Kristen acted like Jake’s death simply got her thinking about Stefan’s demise.
Nevertheless, Anna couldn’t shake the feeling that Kristen was up to something and revealed her suspicions to Tony later.
At the secret lab, Kristen entered thinking she’d find Dr. Rolf, but it was Li who stepped out from behind the curtain instead.
Li had a scheming look in his eyes as he caught Kristen off guard.
