Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, May 23, reveals that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) wanted a secret alliance with Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash). Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) also delayed her Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) remarriage over Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), so here’s how all the DOOL drama went down.
At the hospital on Monday’s Days episode, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) got Allie to admit she still loved Chanel. After Tripp pointed out he was the stable choice, he hinted that maybe Allie had wanted a “normal” family with him instead of dealing with the complications of being bi.
Tripp wanted someone who could love him with her whole heart, so he gave Allie a nudge toward letting him go. However, Tripp assured Allie that he would always be in her life as well as Henry Horton’s (Clyde and Nash Gunderson) life since they were bonded forever.
In the waiting area, Johnny asked what Chanel was doing tonight and said they should get married. Chanel couldn’t commit to such a huge step yet since she still loved Allie, too.
That said, Chanel loved Johnny as well and was just looking for some time before she made any big decisions. Since Chanel was worth the wait, Johnny was willing to give her that.
After Allie appeared with updates on things being over with Tripp, Chanel pulled her into a comforting embrace. Once Chanel left for the bakery, there was some awkwardness between Allie and Johnny.
Over video chat on Monday’s Days episode, Kristen voted against the motion to oust Gabi Hernande DiMera (Camila Banus). That left Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) fuming since they no longer had enough votes for a majority.
Jake thought he was invited to the celebration afterward, but Gabi ended up going off for drinks with Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) alone. That led to talk of mixing business with pleasure, which Gabi seemed fine with when it came to Li.
Next, Kristen got Jake on a video call to mention that Gabi wasn’t a DiMera like them and hint about wanting Jake on the throne instead. Kristen had a feeling they were going to do great things together!
During a fight with Belle Brady (Martha Madison), Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) suddenly cried out claiming to be in pain. Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) took Jan to the hospital, where the doctor confirmed that it was a normal cramp and nothing serious.
Jan was still upset about the possibility of losing their baby over stress, so Shawn comforted her before Belle walked in.
After Shawn offered a positive report from the doctor, he wanted to get a cup of coffee and talk. Instead, Belle pushed Shawn to be with Jan and the baby before taking off.
Once Shawn got Jan settled back in at home, she acted like everything would be fine if he kept Belle away. Jan seemed quite pleased with herself as she reclined on the couch alone.
As for Belle on Monday’s DOOL episode, she made her way to the DiMera mansion and learned EJ lost the power grab. That led to Belle and EJ commiserating with drinks on the sofa.
