Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 29, reveals that Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) wanted a divorce while Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) had a final wish for Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). Clyde Weston (James Read) also asked Nancy Miller (Patrika Darbo) to forgive him, so here’s how all the Days drama played out.
At the DiMera mansion, Stefan praised EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) for bringing Abigail’s killer to justice and reflected on his love for Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin).
Gabi Hernandez-DiMera (Camila Banus) had just gotten in the way as far as Stefan was concerned.
EJ asked if anyone besides Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was involved in the scheme with Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton), but Stefan said it was all so hazy.
Once EJ got a notification on his phone, he smiled since it was time to go get Stefan’s shares back from Gabi.
EJ also let Stefan know that he was going to offer a fake apology to Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) to get them back on his side.
Meanwhile, Ava barged in Gabi’s office to discuss Stefan’s return from the dead and how she wasn’t crazy since she wasn’t hallucinating.
After Gabi learned Johnny might not be on their side anymore, she urged Ava to tell him that she changed her mind and wanted to sleep with him after all.
Next on Thursday’s Days episode, Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) checked in with Chloe, who insisted she was happy with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).
If Li was expecting Chloe to keep Stefan away from Gabi, then she warned it wasn’t going to happen.
Once Li met up with Gabi in her office, he confirmed that he still loved her and wanted to marry her.
After Stefan walked in, Gabi assumed he was there for the shares and explained to Li that Stefan was teaming up with EJ to oust her.
Stefan admitted he had something else to say and talked about how he wasn’t giving up on Chloe.
Since they both needed to move on with their lives, Stefan told Gabi that he was filing divorce proceedings as soon as possible.
After EJ went to the legal department, he delivered the news that Stefan was in control of his shares again.
Stefan demanded the stock certificates, so Gabi handed them over and threw him out along with EJ.
At Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) apartment, Johnny was on the sofa and threw his blanket off in his sleep.
Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) ogled Johnny in his underwear before he woke up and asked what she was looking at.
When Allie came out of the bedroom, she made it clear that Johnny had overstayed his welcome.
Chanel didn’t see the harm in letting Johnny stay a few more days, so Johnny asked if Allie was afraid Chanel would succumb to their powerful chemistry.
While Johnny was in the shower, Chanel wondered if Allie was jealous.
Allie denied it, but she asked if she had a reason to be since Chanel was fine with Johnny staying there in his “teeny-tiny little baby underwear.”
Chanel assured Allie that she made her choice and seemed upset that Allie didn’t trust her.
However, Allie clarified that it was Johnny who she didn’t trust. After Johnny left, Chanel reiterated that Allie was the one she wanted and sealed it with a kiss.
In the town square on Thursday’s DOOL episode, Ava ran into Johnny and suggested she’d been hasty to kick him out.
Ava convinced Johnny to come stay with her at the Salem Inn again right as EJ popped up.
EJ acted like what happened with Chad last night was a reminder of the importance of family.
After EJ apologized to Johnny and Ava, he invited them both back to the DiMera mansion and got them to at least consider it.
In the cemetery, Abigail appeared to Chad in a vision and asked how he felt now that he’d found her killer.
Chad admitted he felt empty inside and didn’t know how he was supposed to go on.
Abigail insisted Chad had to keep living for the kids and cling to the memories they’d made together.
The greatest gift Chad could give Abigail would be to live life, find joy and love again.
Chad insisted there’d never be anyone else, but Abigail argued that he wouldn’t feel that way forever.
Although Chad said Abigail still had his heart, she suggested he could give it to another special someone. That didn’t mean Chad had to stop loving Abigail – just like she’d never stop loving him.
After Abigail got Chad to share how she lived on through their children, she asked him to kiss her goodbye.
Chad locked lips with Abigail in an emotional moment and said he loved her with all his heart.
Abigail replied that she’d love Chad forever before the vision disappeared – leaving Chad distraught alone in front of her grave.
Once Nancy got permission from Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), she paid Clyde a visit in the hospital.
Nancy wondered if anything between them was real and if Clyde really loved her. Clyde reminded Nancy that he told her he loved her time and time again.
Nancy talked about how she needed someone – anyone – to make her feel desirable again after her divorce from Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas).
That made Nancy so willing to believe Clyde’s lies.
Nancy mentioned Abigail’s murder and Sonny Kiriakis’ (Zach Tinker) attempted murder.
After Nancy wondered if she would’ve been next, Clyde assured Nancy that he had truly wanted to be a better man for her.
Clyde wished he hadn’t hurt Nancy and asked if there was any way she could forgive him.
However, what Clyde did to Nancy paled in comparison to his other victims, so Nancy thought he needed to ask forgiveness from them.
That said, Nancy vowed to pray for Clyde since everyone at least deserves that. Clyde replied that he appreciated it before an emotional Nancy left.
Back at Chloe’s suite, she was surprised when Stefan showed up at her door with flowers and gifts.
