Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Wednesday, January 5 Recap – Rex’s Island News for Xander – Nicole's Security Call on EJ

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, January 5, reveals that Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) had some island news for Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) while Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) threatened to call security on EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). Let’s talk about how all Wednesday’s DOOL drama went down.

At Basic Black, EJ found Nicole with what was left of Duke the teddy bear. He reminded Nicole that he trashed that bear, but she was more focused on how EJ unceremoniously dumped her.

Nicole also blamed Sami for destroying Duke and shocked EJ by revealing that she rode off into the sunset with Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo).

EJ ranted about Lucas setting him up and blamed Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) for his part in the frame job.

Nicole didn’t care whether EJ was innocent or not since whatever they had was over.

Nicole warned EJ to leave before she had him thrown out, but EJ wanted to let her know how sorry he was first.

EJ hoped for forgiveness, but Nicole gave him a “hard no” on that.

Nicole went on a tirade since she visited EJ after his arrest, but he neglected to tell her that he’d already ripped up his divorce papers.

Nicole thought EJ kept his mouth shut just in case Sami dumped him, but she refused to let him come crawling back now.

Nicole warned that she wouldn’t be a consolation prize, but EJ argued that Nicole was the one he truly wanted.

EJ said Nicole was an extraordinary woman, but she’d heard it all before and wasn’t buying it.

Nicole got upset since the men she picked never put her first. She threatened to call security on EJ until he begged her not to. At that point, Nicole decided she’d be the one to leave instead.

In the town square on Wednesday’s Days episode, Ava acted like she’d never destroy Duke since he mattered so much to Nicole and Rafe. She pointed out that Rafe said they were just friends – unless something changed that meant Ava should be worried.

Rafe reassured Ava, who wanted an apology and got one.

After Rafe suggested Nicole was probably right about Sami going after Duke, Ava lied about seeing a blonde at Basic Black.

Rafe wanted to look at the security tapes, but Ava acted like he was going overboard on his stuffed bear investigation.

Once Rafe decided Ava was right, he dashed off to buy an “I’m sorry” cake. Rafe hoped Ava could forgive him, but she smashed the cake in his face and told him to shove it!

However, Ava snapped out of her fantasy moments later and assured Rafe that she indeed forgave him. As Nicole appeared nearby, Ava hugged Rafe and gave her former friend a rather unnerving smile.

After Xander ran into Rex outside the pub, he offered to buy him a beer. Rex agreed to fill Xander in on his last interaction with Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), who basically warned him not to come looking for her.

Xander brought up how Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) posed as Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk), so Rex mentioned how creative the DiMeras could get.

Rex mentioned the deserted island that the DiMeras used to get rid of people permanently.

Rex added that Kristen planned to ship his mother there and explained the whole Kate mask situation.

Rex thought it was lucky that didn’t happen to Xander and vowed to be in touch if he heard from Sarah.

At the Horton house, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) ranted about Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) trying to find Sarah just to get back at her.

Gwen felt like Abigail always tried to keep her from the people she loved – first with Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and now with Xander.

Abigail defended her investigation since Sarah was family and she wanted to help Maggie. Gwen got upset when it seemed like Jack was taking Abigail’s side, but she eventually settled down.

In a moment alone with Gwen, Jack wondered why she was so afraid of losing Xander.

Gwen admitted she never loved anyone the way she loves Xander – and no one ever loved her like Xander either. She was so scared of losing him, but Jack felt Gwen had nothing to worry about.

Meanwhile, Abigail met up with Xander and wanted to know everything he knew about Sarah.

Xander mentioned that he just got back from a chat with Rex, who might’ve been the last person to talk to her.

At DiMera Enterprises on Wednesday’s Days episode, Kate warned Chad not to get too cocky in that CEO chair.

Kate found the evidence against EJ to be awfully convenient and pushed Chad to admit he cooked it up.

Chad finally confessed that Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) planted the proof before convincing him to go along with it.

Chad revealed Lucas’ kidnapping scheme to Kate, though it took some convincing to make her believe it.

Kate didn’t want to betray Lucas, but she thought her son might need help if he went that far.

Kate also feared Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) might never forgive her for letting Sami leave town with her kidnapper.

Chad argued that Lucas would never hurt Sami and felt he was just doing whatever it took to break EJ’s hold on her.

As Kate worried she couldn’t keep quiet about this, EJ appeared and insisted he’d like to know what they were talking about.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Kate will actually shift her strategy and become the one pushing for Chad’s silence down the road!
