Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 20, reveals that Sarah Horton’s (Linsey Godfrey) dropped murder clue came to light while Allie Horton (Linsey Godfrey) spied Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) kiss. Here’s how all the Days drama played out.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) pointed out that an eyewitness put Sarah at the DiMera mansion on the night of Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) murder.
Sarah admitted Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) advised her to speak with Abigail about her own drug experience, so she had a reason to be there.
After Sarah called off the wedding for now and agreed to help with the investigation, she spoke with Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) alone.
Sarah worried since there were things about that night she couldn’t remember.
It left Sarah fearful that she might’ve had a vision of Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and attacked Abigail thinking she was the enemy.
In the Salem PD interrogation room, more of Lucas Horton’s (Bryan Dattilo) memories surfaced.
Lucas could clearly see Sarah rushing out – though she paused after dropping something to pick it up and put it back in her pocket.
Although Lucas couldn’t tell for sure what Sarah dropped, he remembered leaving the mansion and returning to his hotel suite.
After Lucas recapped everything he’d recalled to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), he was relieved to know he wasn’t behind Abigail’s murder.
After receiving updates on the new person of interest, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) paced around the DiMera mansion living room and struggled to stay put.
Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) kept Chad company and tried to reassure him that Abigail’s death wasn’t his fault.
Once Chad broke down in tears over Abigail never coming back, Sonny pulled him into a warm embrace and offered some comfort.
At Allie’s place, she got a visit from Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow).
Kate had something to spill, but she was interrupted by Marlena’s arrival and the revelations from Lucas’ hypnosis session.
Kate eventually came clean about knowing Lucas was the kidnapper before everyone else, so Allie flew into a rage.
Allie couldn’t believe Kate was just going to sit there and let Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) marry Lucas after what he did.
After Allie found out Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) dumped Kate, she acted like she wanted nothing to do with her grandmother now either.
Allie got Marlena to watch Henry Horton (Clyde and Nash Gunderson) before leaving in a huff.
Kate was upset over Allie’s reaction, but she conveyed to Marlena how glad she was that Allie had others to lean on right now.
In the town square on Wednesday’s Days episode, Johnny was done waiting and couldn’t just pretend he didn’t love Chanel.
Once Johnny offered Chanel her old engagement ring, he stirred up memories of his first proposal and insisted that they belonged together.
Johnny proposed on one knee again, but Chanel felt like so much had happened since they first got married.
However, Johnny was adamant that his love hadn’t changed and got Chanel to confess that she still loved him, too.
Right as Johnny and Chanel shared a steamy kiss, Allie popped up to witness it and looked deflated.
