General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) may be an Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) bio mom option. Holly’s imminent return brings shocking rewrite possibilities, so let’s consider this potential bombshell.
There have been some hints that Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) is Esme’s biological mother, but nothing is set in stone.
Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) has never confirmed the name of Esme’s mom – not that we could ever trust a word out of his mouth anyway!
Besides, GH writers have been known to shift storylines in new directions as they go along.
Just look at this mess of a story with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and her resurfacing Reiko Finn (Mele Ihara) memories.
It’s obvious the writers had absolutely no idea that’s where they’d end up when Liz first started having issues.
There’s no way Reiko was the endgame back when Liz was struggling to figure out Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) “haunting” clues.
Likewise, Cody Bell’s (Josh Kelly) existence is a rewrite that doesn’t make much sense in terms of the show’s history, but GH has to keep coming up with new ideas and making them work.
Now that Holly is coming back into the picture, she could get a rewrite, too. Will the writers find some way to explain that Esme is Holly’s biological child?
Of course, we should also consider the possibility that Ryan is lying about being Esme’s father.
That opens the door to another dad candidate for Esme, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Regardless, it’s interesting that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) once tasked Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) with finding Esme’s birth mom info.
Victor was initially hesitant to help since family reunions can sometimes turn into disasters.
What if Victor found out or already knew that Holly – the woman he’s presumably been holding captive – was Esme’s mother?
There’s the potential for Victor’s mind control to become a factor in the next phase of Holly’s storyline.
Holly could be “The Hook” if Victor has found some way to program her to do his bidding.
It’d be a great twist if Esme hook suspicions grow – only for her own bio mom to be revealed as the attacker instead.
There’s no guarantee Holly and Esme have a biological connection, but it’s worth considering now that Holly is returning.
Until the truth about Esme’s bio mom is revealed, this remains a mystery that’s fun to speculate on.
