General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, September 20 Recap – Alexis Sets Trap For Hook Killer – Carly Trades Aruba for Mom Mission

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 20, reveals that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) planned an open letter to the PC terrorizer. Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) also traded Aruba for a mission related to her adoptive mom, Virginia Benson (Lois Nettleton), so here’s how all the action played out.

For starters, Carly put flowers down on Virginia’s grave.

After Carly talked about getting the life she wanted in Port Charles, she said it all came crashing down like a house of cards.

Now Carly was back where she started in Jacksonville. Carly talked about her run-in with Peyton aka Mrs. Wade Honeycutt (Linda Purl).

That led to Carly reflecting on how impressed she was by Peyton’s life once upon a time – though she prayed she never said Peyton was better than her mom.

A night guard eventually put his flashlight on Carly, who learned that they were shutting down this cemetery and putting in a parkway for better access to the beach.

The Jacksonville Beautification Guild got the ball rolling, so Carly’s adoptive mom would have to be moved.

Carly ranted about Virginia being dug up like some sort of potted plant and confronted Peyton soon after.

If Peyton thought for one second that Virginia was leaving her resting place, then Carly warned she had lost her mind!

Carly decided to skip Aruba to stay there and fight for her mother.

Back in Port Charles, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) pushed for an answer about whether Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) tried to sabotage his marriage by intentionally losing the divorce papers.

Jordan maintained that she put the signed divorce papers on her desk and never saw them again, so Curtis said he believed her.

However, Curtis also wanted to know if they’d still be married if he hadn’t asked for a divorce.

Jordan acknowledged that Curtis was the one who wanted that divorce, but she knew there were things he couldn’t get past.

Curtis never felt like he was on solid ground with Jordan, so she questioned if he felt like he was on solid ground with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr).

Jordan asked if you could ever really know a person to their core, so Curtis suggested you could get close.

Both Jordan and Curtis wished for each other to everything they wanted.

In Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) hypnosis session, she admitted she was scared and got reassurance from Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom).

Liz could still see the woman at the bottom of the staircase, but she couldn’t see her face.

When Liz looked up at the top of the stairs, she said someone was there.

Elizabeth then flashed back to looking at Peter August (Wes Ramsey) after his own staircase tumble and seemed confused.

Once Kevin brought Liz out of hypnosis, she said she couldn’t do this.

Elizabeth refused to try again, so Kevin said they’d pick this back up on Tuesday and watched as Liz left in a hurry.

Next, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) wondered if the public had a right to know that there might be a lunatic out there with a hook – someone who could strike again.

Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) sent Finn off to be with Liz while he debated the issue with Alexis.

Gregory suggested Alexis should report the facts and not emotions, but Alexis thought they should write an open letter to the person terrorizing the town and appeal to that person’s vanity.

Then, they would wait for that person to write back.

Gregory thought Alexis would either win a Pulitzer or get indicted, but he confessed that he was intrigued.

Over with Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs), she found Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

Glady was so relieved over Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) survival and hugged Sonny as she expressed her happiness.

In Brando’s room at GH, Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) was frantic over his sudden seizure.

Portia rushed in with a couple nurses while Sasha was forced to wait outside.

Sasha flashed back through her love story with Brando and pushed him to pull through after everything they’d been through together.

Unfortunately, Brando flatlined and forced Portia to start chest compressions since they were losing him.

In the waiting area, Sasha looked at photos of herself with Brando on her phone.

If Brando would just come back to her, she promised they’d have a beautiful life and make only happy memories.

Suddenly, the nearby lamps flickered and left Sasha calling out Brando’s name in confusion.

Portia emerged from Brando’s room moments later looking somber.

After Sonny left Carly a voicemail, he met a mysterious man named George (Michael Flynn) who seemed down in the dumps and was holding info from a racetrack. Sonny thought George might know his old man, Mike Corbin (Max Gail).

Once George suggested that he’d overstayed his welcome in this world, Sonny argued that everybody’s life matters.

George jokingly asked if Sonny was a priest and earned a laugh from him.

Sonny also mentioned his cousin at one point – and later, there was a slight flicker of the lights before George asked that cousin’s name.

After Sonny said it was Brando, George told him not to ask how he knew this, but Sonny was needed. That led to Sonny rushing off to check on things.

Back with Sasha, she began to panic as Portia said she was so sorry and that they’d done everything they could.

Gladys and Nina appeared as Portia confirmed that Brando didn’t make it.

Sasha sank to the floor as she cried out Brando’s name, so Nina tried to comfort her.

Gladys also burst into tears as she tried to wrap her head around Portia’s tragic updates.

Sonny walked over and found out there were unforeseen complications, so he told Portia that he wanted to see Brando.

Once Sonny approached dead Brando’s bedside, he suggested Brando, Mike and Liam Corbin should take care of each other up there.

Sonny promised to take care of Sasha, Gladys and everybody else.

When Curtis and Jordan met up with TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) and Stella Henry (Vernee Watson), they pretended they were discussing the hook investigation.

Jordan hinted that even the darkest secret couldn’t stay a secret forever and gave Stella a look.

Portia appeared with the news of Brando’s death, so TJ was shaken up.

It didn’t make sense to TJ, who couldn’t figure out what went wrong since the surgery had been successful.

Back with Alexis, she felt that her coverage could help the investigation and then overheard that Brando had died as a result of his injuries.

That led to Alexis declaring that she would run the article – and Gregory had no objections since they had to act before a family faced another funeral.

Once Liz met up with Finn, she hugged him as he asked if she’d learned anything. Elizabeth admitted she’d learned she was a good liar.

Liz suggested that what happened with Peter brought the trauma in her past to the surface.

Finn felt guilty since he pushed Peter – and Liz couldn’t be honest about that whole incident in her sessions.

Nevertheless, Finn talked about taking it one step at a time, so Liz had a weird reaction to that comment and said that was how you reached the summit.

After Liz recalled her father said the same thing about mountain climbing, she wondered if Jeff Webber (last played by Richard Dean Anderson) pushed that woman down the stairs and relayed that possibility to Kevin.

Back with Portia, she told Finn that they’d lost Brando and handed him the medical file hoping he could tell her why.

Portia couldn’t help but feel like something sinister was going on.

Once Sasha prepared herself, she got Sonny to come with her to see Brando’s body. Gladys and Nina came along as well, so there were some teary moments as Stella’s prayer could be heard from elsewhere.

General Hospital spoilers say Brando’s death will continue to take a toll on Sasha, so stay tuned for more GH drama.
