General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, August 10 Recap – Cody Arrested After Dominique Stanton Mom Reveal – Sonny Schools Spencer

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 10, reveals that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) was arrested after his Dominique Stanton (Shell Danielson) mom reveal. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) also schooled Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) on the reality of prison, so here’s how all the action went down.

At the nail salon, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) made sure Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) got pampered before quizzing him about Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). Spinelli claimed his crush was a recent development – just a bolt from the blue that was unrelated to his algorithm.

Although Spinelli argued that Britt didn’t return his feelings, Maxie thought that could change. After Maxie suggested using the algorithm on himself, Spinelli feared he might match with someone he couldn’t have – though it became obvious he had secretly matched with Maxie based on his longing look.

At Charlie’s Pub, Nina shared more kisses with Sonny and confirmed she was available tomorrow night for a date. Sonny was busy tonight, so Nina headed off and let him handle whatever he needed to handle.

Meanwhile, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) cornered Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) and revealed that she knew he was withholding assets from his ex-wives. Anna blackmailed Martin into helping her figure out what Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was hiding or else she’d expose Martin’s monetary betrayal.

At the Metro Court pool, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) feared his nose was broken following Cody’s punch, but Cody fired back that he should’ve broken a lot more.

Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) assessed Scott’s injury and suggested his nose only seemed bruised. After giving Cody a knee to the groin and pulling his arm behind his back, Liesl ranted about Cody’s uncalled for attack.

Scott insisted he didn’t even know Cody, who admitted in another life he might’ve called him “Dad.” Britt asked if Cody was Scott’s son, but he said no to the best of his knowledge.

Cody explained that he was Dominique Stanton’s child by someone else and that the Bell family raised him after his mother gave him up. By the time Cody found out the truth, Dominique was dead and his inheritance was gone.

Cody snapped about his half-sister, Serena Baldwin (Carly Schroeder), spending all hers saving the whales. All Cody wanted was his fair share, but Scott wished the money grubber good luck with that.

Cody acted like he could make it on his own before Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was summoned over the disturbance. Once Dante found out about the punch, he arrested Cody and took him away in handcuffs.

At the Metro Court Gardens, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) caught the end of Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) tense conversation. Alexis heard that Ava would rather live with convicts than Cassadines and knew there was major trouble.

Once Ava left, Nikolas downplayed his marriage drama, but Alexis didn’t think a scorned woman like Ava was the type to let a mistake slide. Talk turned to Spencer as Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) appeared after calling for this meeting.

Victor and Nikolas hoped that Alexis could run a story at The Invader to help Spencer, but she feared backlash. If a guilty young white man got off the hook while an innocent young black woman went to prison, it wouldn’t work out well for Spencer.

That said, Alexis had a story in the works on Esme and wanted to point the finger at her instead. Nikolas argued that Esme left town, but Alexis decided that maybe she could use that as an angle.

Next on Wednesday’s GH episode, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) wanted to make a deal with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). If Valentin would give up ELQ, then Drew would help get rid of Victor.

Valentin seemed intrigued, but Drew refused to divulge the details since Valentin might tip off Victor to appear loyal. Drew wasn’t buying that it was legit loyalty and felt confident Valentin would rather take Victor down.

Valentin offered a genuine warning since Drew was out of Victor’s orbit now. By putting himself back in the line of fire, Valentin feared Drew would make his loved ones targets. Drew seemed pensive as Valentin suggested he knew that all too well.

Once Nina joined Ava at the bar, she passed along positive updates on her relationship with Sonny. Ava was happy for Nina, but she advised against congratulating herself too soon and hinted about her marriage drama with Nikolas. Although Nina was willing to lend an ear, Ava didn’t want to drag her into it.

At the PCPD, Sonny showed up to see Spencer and get him ready since he was set to serve one month at Pentonville. Although Sonny wasn’t trying to scare him about the reality of a harsher prison facility, Spencer was already scared.

Sonny had done his best to make Spencer untouchable, but the guys watching out for him weren’t bodyguards and couldn’t keep tabs every second. With that in mind, Spencer still needed to keep his head down and stay out of trouble.

After Sonny said he was proud of Spencer for helping Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), Spencer admitted he was considering ratting out the people who helped with his escape. If Spencer did that, he might get a lighter sentence.

Sonny didn’t approve of informants in his line of work, but he recognized that Spencer was in a different situation and had to use every tool available to him. It was a matter of whether Spencer’s loved ones had more to gain if he went free.
