General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for the week of August 22-26 teases that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) will face a romantic setback while Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) takes an interest in a new man. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will also get slammed, so let’s discuss what’s coming up.
For starters, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) will pass along updates to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), so he’ll hear about the latest Sonny problems.
Dex will warn that Sonny may cut him loose – or worse, he could find out Dex is secretly working for Michael.
However, Michael will have bigger issues to worry about after Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) appointment at GH.
Moving forward with chemo immediately would be detrimental to the baby’s development, but delaying it would mean gambling with Willow’s own health.
After Willow finally confesses the leukemia news to Michael, he’ll offer comfort. As for Willow’s treatment decision, she may be adamant about postponing it for the baby’s sake.
On a happier note, love will be around every corner at the Quartermaine charity picnic.
Look for Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) to get closer thanks to the festivities.
Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) will also join forces on a secret mission – one to encourage a commitment between Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
According to Falconeri lore, there’s a special beverage that brings strong feelings and confessions.
Olivia will teach Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) how to make this love potion as part of the Sam and Dante plot.
Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) will ultimately down a glass of that love potion, so that’ll nudge him into admitting his feelings for Brook Lynn.
As for Dante and Sam’s relationship, they seem poised to make a big commitment like Olivia wants.
That could mean Sam vowing to move in with Dante – though it’s possible they’ll take it a step further and get engaged.
Back with Olivia, she’ll spot Nina and Sonny at the picnic, so that’ll bring a disgusted reaction.
General Hospital spoilers say Olivia will make it crystal clear that Sonny and Nina are unwanted guests.
Over with Drew and Carly, they’ll consider moving out of the friend zone.
Drew has expressed interest in Carly romantically, so he should like the idea of her finally getting on board.
Unfortunately, there’ll be a setback once Drew and Carly mull this over.
We’ll see Carly and Drew wonder if it’s really such a good idea to move into romantic territory.
After a dangerous ordeal takes center stage at the picnic, that could change the game.
Drew may leap into hero mode for Carly’s sake, so this could bond them even further.
As for Mason (Nathanyael Grey), he’ll get on Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) bad side again.
Mason will deliver a menacing threat and do his best to rattle Austin into submission.
Terry will get attracted to someone new while Mason is around, so could he be the guy?
If so, Terry might be the first to figure out what secrets Austin and Mason are keeping.
Then again, Terry already struck out when Chet Driscoll (Chris Van Etten) moved away.
GH writers may not want to put Terry through another nonstarter romance, so maybe there’ll be a more worthy guy who catches her eye.
Over with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), he’ll feel like he needs to tell Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) about reaching out to Dr. Webber.
Fans heard Finn make that call, which was presumably to Dr. Sarah Webber (last played by Sarah Laine) – the sister Liz isn’t very close to and didn’t want dragged into this.
Nevertheless, Liz may ultimately admit she could use some help nailing down the past.
After another horrible flashback, Liz may admit there’s indeed a buried memory trying to come out.
Elsewhere, Spencer seems poised to learn Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) slept with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen), so the fallout for the Cassadine family has only just begun.
We may see Spencer push for answers about Esme’s fate, so that could bring parapet tumble news, too.
