General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for week of December 19-23 teases that Ava Jerome (Maura West) will remain incensed over Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) affair with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and the bun she supposedly has in the oven.
Of course, GH fans know Nik is hiding pregnant Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) instead, but it’s not like that news would fix much of anything. Even if Nik gave Ava updates on the truth, she’d be burning with rage.
Ava will continue to believe Nikolas’ Liz lie for now and will plot her revenge.
It’ll leave Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) concerned about the risky road Ava’s headed down.
Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is playing with fire as well since she’s sitting on a sabotage secret.
Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) doesn’t know Carly’s working behind the scenes to make sure Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) thinks her birth mom is dead.
Drew and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will discuss evidence that Denise McKenzie (Alex Rietveld) is lying, so Carly will land in another predicament. There’ll be a close call as Carly just barely avoids getting busted.
Carly will also urge Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) to leave Port Charles and most likely stay with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) until “The Hook” gets caught.
Josslyn will dismiss that idea, so that’ll give her a chance to bond with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) again.
There’ll be some situation where Dex feels the need to step up for Josslyn, so that’s what he’ll do.
Despite repeated warnings from Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Dex won’t be able to resist Joss.
There’s just something magnetic between these two, so Josslyn and Dex will remain intensely drawn to each other.
Back with Carly, she’ll side with Ava and realize they’ve got something in common.
Ava may rant about Nikolas’ cheating and get Carly’s support as a fellow victim of betrayal.
Meanwhile, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will have to make a decision about her dating life.
Will Maxie give Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) another chance or cut him loose over lack of trust?
Maxie will decide to get blurt with Austin, so she may spell out her problems with him and lay out what she expects moving forward.
Unfortunately, Austin will be on thin ice and will inevitably blow his second chance if he gets one.
Maxie doesn’t realize there are so many other secrets buried under the surface.
After Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) spars with Nikolas over his divorce and the Liz affair shocker, he’ll get guidance from Alexis.
That’ll send Spencer to Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) place to comfort her over Rory Cabrera’s (Michael Blake Kruse) murder.
Trina will rely on Spencer’s help to stop all the hook madness, so they’ll consider the evidence together.
Other GH spoilers say Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) will remind Elizabeth of something important, so she’ll have a lot to mull over as she deals with the fake pregnancy drama.
There’ll be some Christmas gatherings in Port Charles as well, so the show will get past the doom and gloom for some holiday festivities.
