Tonight’s episode begins with hometown week, the important week of this journey for Clayton. His first date is with Susie and she admits that she is falling in love with him. But before that, she needs to know if he likes to be choked. Susie is passionate about jujitsu, she started training in Japan and sees her body as a weapon, she is excited to show Clayton. They both get changed and Susie does get him in a chokehold, he starts coughing. Later, they go on a picnic near the water. She tells him that she was nervous to bring him home because she is different than where she came from. She goes on to say that she is falling in love with him and it is a big deal to bring him home to her dad because he is what a man should be.

It’s a rainy evening, Clayton is about to meet Susie’s mom Jean, dad Tom, her sister Barbara and her best friend Lauren. They arrive with flowers and a gift, Susie is so happy to be home. You can see the strong bond between Susie and her father. Susie is not worried about her parents embracing Clayton, but they are the most important people in the world to her and she respects their opinion.

Susie goes to speak in private to her dad, he says he is stronger every day and has an MRI in the morning. Then, he spends time with Clayton, he tells him that she is special. When he got sick last year she slept on the floor near his bed, that is who he is getting. He and his wife look up to Susie because she is so nice and such a good person. When they walked in the door, he says he sees something with them and felt comfortable with him coming into the house. Furthermore, he knows that Susie would know if he was a bad guy and if she loves him, they will love him. Next, Clayton is with Susie’s mom who says that Susie is loyal and if he is not, she will be out of there. She asks him if he loves Susie, he says he has strong feelings, love is sacred and he knows he will get there. Susie’s mother tells her to proceed with caution.

On to the second date for Clayton and this one is in Denver, Colorado, and his date with Gabby. Gabby says that every time they see each other they keep growing their relationship and she looks forward to meeting her family. She has a surprise for him, they have hiking gear, they are going hiking. Clayton loves that Gabby makes him laugh, she is the funniest person that he has ever met. The next word coming out of her mouth is always a wild card. She brings him to the top of a mountain to proposal rock. She has been looking forward to this day for so long. They arrive at a hot tub, with champagne. They get changed and get inside. He tells him that he will be meeting her aunt Julie, uncle Rich, their daughter, her cousin, and her grandfather. Because of COVID, her father can’t be there, health stuff comes first. They arrive and everyone gets up to greet them. Gabby is falling in love with Clayton, she knows that her dad would have a ton of questions, and it’s sad that he can’t be there. John, Gabby’s grandfather, thinks the two looks happy together. He takes Clayton to the side, he wants to make sure that he is good enough for her – he doesn’t give a damn about anything else. He tells Clayton that she is a good kid and he better be good to her. Gabby is really emotional, she misses her dad who she is really close to. Back in the living room, everyone is sitting on the couch when they hear a horn beeping outside, Gabby goes to see who it is, it is her father. He couldn’t get out of the car, but he wanted to give her encouragement. Clayton comes outside and hugs her, she tells her it is really emotional. He tells her that he is so excited that he was here for that moment. It is so obvious how important Gabby’s dad is to her.

They go back into the house and tell everyone what happened. Gabby’s grandfather tells Gabby that Clayton is really a good guy and he believes they both will do well together. Gabby got all of her family’s blessing. Outside with Clayton, he tells her this meant a lot to him, he feels like part of the family. She tells him that she feels like she is falling in love with him. She says her words have weight, she doesn’t say things unless she means it.

Serene is so happy to be home in Oklahoma and she is so excited for him to meet her family. First, she asks him if he is afraid of heights. Today they are taking a leap of faith, although strapped in, they are going to be walking across a tight rope obstacle course that is tall like a skyscraper. Clayton is sweating and gripping, he is trembling to take every step. He makes it and hugs the pole when he arrives on the other side. Serene virtually run over the same route and Clayton can’t believe it. It only gets worse, there is only one way down, they have to jump down 80 feet. They both do it but are freaking out on the inside. Serene loved seeing Clayton going through all the emotions, she loved that they conquered it together. She tells him that he will be meeting her mom, brother, best friend. Her dad will not be there, they divorced when she was two. And, she tells him that she is falling in love with him.

They arrive, and it has been at least ten years since she has introduced someone to her family. Roland, Serene’s brother, is worried that she has fallen hard for Clayton. He tells Clayton that fact that Serene told her about their losses is huge. Roland asks him right out if he loves her and Clayton stalls, then says he hasn’t told anyone that he loves them. Elsewhere, Serene tells her mother that she told Clayton she was falling in love with him. She shows her mother the jar that Clayton got her because fireflies are important to her. Her mother Sherri says it is a pretty big deal for Serene to say she is falling in love with Clayton.

Clayton is now in Clermont, Florida to meet with Rachel and they are going kayaking. She tells him that the alligator there are more terrifying than the black bears. They see a huge spider and Clayton says it is so big that it could fight Godzilla. They stop at a secluded beach and go for a swim. He is going to meet her parents and friends but warns that her father comes off as a little harsh at first. Clayton is welcoming of their company and hopes he can earn their respect. She tells him that she is falling in love with him. They arrive at the house and Rachel is glowing and they cheer for the family coming together. Nate, Rachel’s friend, is worried that there are three other girls. She says she doesn’t know where his relationship is with the other three, you have to kind of push that out of your mind. Clayton sits down with her father, he says he doesn’t want to see his daughter get hurt. He says to him, there looks like there are no other women, and that is what worries him. If Rachel isn’t the one, he wants to know what he is going to do not to hurt her. He says he has dreamt about proposing to her, and if he wasn’t serious, he wouldn’t be there. He says he really can’t give his blessing because he hasn’t spoken to Rachel, her word means everything to him. Rachel tells her father that she is in love with Clayton and wants a future with him. They had a great day and Clayton couldn’t imagine it going any better.

The only thing that Clayton is bothered with is that he was told by two families that they don’t know how it is going to affect their daughters if he breaks their heart because this is the happiest they have ever seen them, and that doesn’t sit well with him.

It is time for the Rose Ceremony, and Clayton has to make the toughest decision that he has had to make up to this point. Susie gets the first rose, then Gabby and Rachel. Serene is sent home.

Serene asks Clayton what it was, was it because she said she loved him. He says he had to reflect where he stood with his heart, and he has stronger connections.
