Brooke may be Ridge’s destiny according to the show, but he also has a strong connection with Taylor. There’s a certain level of familiarity and warmth that Ridge is drawn to. That’s why Ridge bolted right to Taylor’s arms following Brooke’s betrayal.
Although Ridge hasn’t reconnected with Taylor in the bedroom yet, perhaps B&B writers are saving that so Ridge can betray Brooke the next time around. It doesn’t have as much impact if Brooke and Ridge are separated, so maybe it’s better to wait.
Ridge seems poised to get back together with Brooke after the truth about Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) scheme comes out. That’s especially true if Sheila goes too far and does something violent.
There’s been speculation about Brooke potentially getting shot and landing in a coma, but we’ll just have to see how it all plays out. Whatever the case, Ridge will soon have reasons to be pulled back in Brooke’s direction.
Of course, Ridge can’t turn his feelings off like a light switch. He’s allowed himself to feel something for Taylor again that won’t just go away when he reunites with Brooke.
Ridge will likely end up pining for Taylor and feeling bad about jilting her. That could lead to growing temptation between these exes and set the stage for some cheating.
Brooke has become more of a screw-up in this marriage lately, so maybe it’s Ridge’s turn to revert to bad behavior. B&B writers love to have former flames land in bed together – only to decide it was a mistake and keep the betrayal a secret.
