Tonight’s episode begins with Lance who looks up at the skies and its locusts.
Maggie and Herschel are leaving Hilltop, he doesn’t want to go. Marco and Elijah are with them and she tells Herschel they will all be back before you know it. He holds on to her hand and they leave.
Elsewhere, Lance flips a coin and a soldier calls tails. The soldier asks what the assignment is and Lance tells him that he will know soon enough.
Eugene and Max wake up together, she smiles, she thought he was still asleep – they both agree they had a lovely night. He tells her that she is the most remarkable person, she smiles and kisses him. She tells him that she has to get ready for work. She is nervous about looking for information on Pamela and Sebastian.
Daryl, Aaron, and Gabriel and raiding a house with the Commonwealth Army. Daryl says this might be their best shot, but Gabriel thinks it is too risky. Aaron tells them that they are in this crap until they find a way out. Daryl plants a false lead about Charleston. Meanwhile, walkers come in to attack. Gabriel whispers to Daryl that they have to watch their backs.
Back in the woods, Maggie tells Herschel that everything she does is so they have choices. All of a sudden, Lydia comes out from behind a tree and says “so you’ve made it.”
Lance is making plans with Leah, they can hear the locusts. He tells her that he will need to see when Maggie is dead, she tells him that he will and takes off with a crew – Lance smiles.
Lydia takes Maggie and her crew to the hideout where Negan and Annie are with the other from the apartment. Negan says, “Maggie, hey kid.” He tells Maggie that his wife is pregnant. He tells her that he wants to go with her to get Lance. She tells Negan that she is starting to trust him. He tells her that she has big balls, he’s got her and her boy. Annie tells her that they will be waiting for her when this is done. They hear the locusts and Negan says that’s a sign from the man upstairs.
Lance radios the soldiers with Daryl and the group, he tells them to finish and head back. All of a sudden, Daryl takes an aim at one of the soldiers when they are in an area where they can find cover hiding behind some vehicles. One by one, Daryl starts to take them out. Aaron is now helping, he has a gun as well. Gabriel stabs a soldier in the leg and grabs his gun, they are three now fighting against the soldiers. The bullets firing cause walkers to stroll into the area.
The battle with the threesome comes down to one last soldier, Marco, crawling on the ground, they walk over to him and Daryl kicks him over and demands to know where Lance is. The soldier sees the walkers and Daryl tells him it is his choice. He tells Daryl that Lance is ten miles out. Daryl kills him and then they go on to kill the rest. Lance calls Marco and Daryl takes the walkie-talkie and tells him that he is not there anymore.
Max is at work with Pamela she tells her there is a $50,000 surplus and she suggests a scholarship fund, but Pamela shuts it down, she tells her they are going back into the event, it is their biggest day of the year. Pamela leaves and Max starts to do her digging. Sebastien catches her by surprise and he asks her if his mom is upset with him. She tells him she can get word to her, and he gets upset, he says she is always working. He sees paperwork in her hands and he becomes suspicious.
Maggie, Marco, Elijah, and Lydia are armed and setting tripwire bombs. Lance and his team go inside and the bombs go off. Maggie tells Marco and Elijah to go back to camp, she will end this with Lance who lost three men inside. Marco stands up and he is shot in the head. Leah comes out of the house, guns aimed and locusts everywhere.
He calls Leah, she tells him her way got his men killed and she calls it collateral damage.
Max shows Eugene and others the papers she got from Pamela’s office, Ezekiel arrives and he has a whole network backing him up. They want to write an article to show how corrupt Pamela is.
Maggie sees Leah and starts shooting. Leah manages to knock Maggie out. Then we see Maggie tied to a chair. Leah tells her that she is going to kill everyone she loves by the time she is done. Maggie says it makes them even, she took her family, and she takes hers. Leah points the gun at her head, Maggie tells her to go ahead. Then Maggie jumps up, and managed to untie herself, she fights Leah for the gun. Leah has a knife, but Maggie doesn’t. She hits Maggie in the face many times and then falls over Maggie. Daryl arrives and he shoots Leah.
Lance is in the woods, he is looking for Maggie and Leah. They arrive at the cabin, and Daryl starts shooting at them. Lance gets a bullet scratch to the face that is deep, he looks angrier than ever before. Lance and his men go into the house, and Daryl and Maggie are gone.
Pamela arrives in her office and throws a paper down on Max’s desk, it reads “Pamela is lying to you.” Elsewhere, the Commonwealth raises their flag, they claim Alexandria.
