The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Ashland’s Secretly Recorded Confession – Proves Liar’s Scheme to Victoria?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) secretly recorded confession may be the only way to prove this liar’s scheme to Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle).

Y&R fans know Victoria has fallen under Ashland’s spell and buys pretty much any excuse he offers.

Ashland has become a master manipulator when it comes to Victoria, who lets him play her like a fiddle every time.

Now Ashland is claiming the Peruvian doctor’s claims are bogus, so Victoria certainly wants to believe that’s true.

The alternative is accepting her husband has been lying to her from the get-go, so it’s easy to see why Victoria was quick to get on board with Ashland’s explanation.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will remain determined to help Victoria see the light and will provide plenty of evidence against Ashland in the coming episodes.

However, it’s tough to believe Victoria will believe any of it.

Ashland will just keep insisting it’s all a setup, so Victoria will surely dig her heels in and support him.

Even if Victoria starts battling doubts deep down, the idea of admitting she was wrong will be humiliating.

That could give Victoria another reason to delude herself into thinking Ashland is a good guy who wouldn’t resort to that level of sinister deception.

Under the circumstances, there may be no amount of proof that can change Victoria’s mind – at least not proof from Victor.

It seems like perhaps the only thing that will convince Victoria is for Ashland to confess.

Of course, it’s hard to imagine Ashland feeling cornered enough to do it to Victoria’s face.

Why would Ashland come clean when his manipulation is working?

As long as Victoria is on his side, Ashland has no need to tell her the truth about what he’s done.

That’s why the Newmans need to get sneaky when it comes to scoring an admission of guilt.

If they can score a secret recording of Ashland acknowledging what he’s done and smugly acting like he’s gotten away with it, that could change everything.

This might be a good plot for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to work on with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

Maybe they could do some scheming and present the idea to Victor.

Adam might bargain for the CEO spot if he can come through with evidence that Victoria can’t refute.

Victor might be desperate enough to agree since nothing else is working.

Bottom line, Victoria may not believe Ashland lied about his lung cancer unless he tells her in his own words.

The only way to make that happen could be through a secret recording, so perhaps the Newmans will have to go for that strategy eventually.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria is in for a rude awakening down the road, so stick with the CBS soap.
