The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, August 5 Recap – Sharon & Victoria Complicit in Cover-Up – Amanda’s Comatose Mom

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, August 5, teases that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will become complicit in a cover-up while Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) gets comatose mom news that sends her out of town.

At Newman Enterprises, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will visit Victoria and get her to explain what happened with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman).

Victoria will repeat the story as she knows it and will be grateful when Billy reveals he sent Nick to check on her that night.

Meanwhile, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will ask Sharon if they can lock the door and talk at Crimson Lights.

Sharon will hear about Nick’s conversation with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), who confirmed he staged the crash.

Nick will insist he killed Ashland with that punch and will hate how Victor handled it.

Once Nick realizes he’s dragged Sharon into this too, he’ll insist she should forget they ever had this conversation.

Sharon will understand that Nick needed someone to talk to, but she still won’t think he should blame himself for Ashland’s fate.

However, Nick will have concerns about Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), who suspects there’s more to the story.

Sharon will argue that Nick didn’t hide anything from the police, but Nick will point out that he’s hiding something now.

At Chancellor-Winters, Amanda will reveal that she just found out Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) lapsed into a coma.

Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will provide support as Amanda decides to go be with her mom as well as Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose).

Devon will offer an indefinite leave of absence along with his private jet so that Amanda can get there quickly.

At the coffeehouse later, Amanda will thank Devon as they confirm they’ll miss each other and share a goodbye kiss.

Back at the office, Nate will tell Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) about Naya’s coma and how he’s selfishly going to miss having the sisters around.

After Nate praises Amanda for being a good lawyer, he’ll talk about Imani being a real ally during all the Devon drama.

Elena will take that to mean Imani has been fueling the conflict, but Nate will disagree and think they need to focus on being helpful right now.

At Society on Friday’s Y&R episode, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) won’t get why Chance is even investigating the Ashland case since it was just a car accident.

There’ll be some awkwardness when Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) arrives with updates for Chance, so Abby will assume there’s info regarding Ashland.

Chance will take off with Kevin, so Abby will catch up with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) before Billy arrives.

After Chelsea and Billy start discussing ideas, Abby will realize they’re working together on the podcast.

Chelsea will confirm it and point out that her new gig with Billy came at a great time.

At the park, Kevin will tell Chance that he scanned the security footage from the gas station where Ashland’s car was spotted.

Although Kevin watched it over and over, the video will be blank for the timeframe Ashland would’ve been there.

Kevin will admit he talked to the gas station manager about the missing time and learned the system is outdated.

They’ve had problems like this before, so Kevin won’t think they can be sure the footage was tampered with.

Chance will counter that they can’t be sure it wasn’t tampered with either.

Kevin will acknowledge that the video is only blank in spots where Ashland would’ve been seen.

Plus, other street camera footage will suggest someone else was in the vehicle with Ashland later that night.

Kevin will then mention footprints and a cigarette butt near where the car was allegedly parked.

That’ll jog Chance’s memory about one of Victor’s guys smoking when they interviewed him.

Chance will struggle to understand how injured Ashland would’ve walked across that expanse of heavily wooded property back to his car.

Kevin will realize Chance thinks somebody moved the body, but he won’t get why Nick and Victoria would call the cops in that case.

Chance will speculate that maybe Victoria and Nick’s first instinct was to call the police before they got scared it wouldn’t look like self-defense.

The ring will also bother Chance, who won’t get how it fell out of Ashland’s pocket if he walked out on his own.

Kevin will suggest perhaps Ashland stumbled and dropped it.

Since Nick came to Chance with the ring, Kevin won’t think that sounds like someone trying to cover this up.

Once he’s alone with Victoria in her office, Nick will admit that Victor confessed to staging the accident.

After Nick explains how Victor had his men handle Ashland’s body, Victoria will think maybe their dad did the right thing.

Nick will be appalled at that notion since Victor went behind their backs and should’ve consulted them.

Victoria will decide Nick’s right since they’re complicit in a cover-up now, so she’ll want to speak with Victor.

When Victoria starts to leave, she’ll open the door to find Chance.

Victoria will ask how long Chance has been standing there, but Chance will insist he just arrived. Since Chance will notice Victoria looks upset, he’ll ask why.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor, Nick, Victoria and even Sharon could land in some tight spots as this Y&R storyline heats up.
