The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, July 29, tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will face a tricky Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) decision while Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) deals with a moral dilemma. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will also hide a secret from Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), so let’s discuss all the Y&R drama ahead.
Thanks to Nick’s updates, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will be able to spill the news of Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) death to Kyle.
That’ll bring a tough conversation about how they should handle the situation with Harrison.
Summer talked about the graveyard nightmare Harrison had back when he thought Ashland was dying.
If Harrison finds out Ashland is dead for real, it could really traumatize the kid.
Since Kyle was going to shut Ashland out of Harrison’s life anyway, he may decide there’s no need to reveal the truth right now.
Harrison might be told that Ashland is simply away on business.
Once Harrison is older and more equipped to understand the whole situation, he could learn what really happened.
Kyle may reflect on how messed up he was as a child when he thought Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was dead.
It’s easy to imagine Kyle wanting to spare Harrison that kind of pain.
At the same time, Kyle might have concerns about Harrison learning the truth from someone else.
There’s also the matter of lying to his son, which won’t be appealing to Kyle either.
Summer will help Kyle reach a decision – even if that decision just involves delaying the news for a while.
Regardless, Y&R spoilers say Kyle will do his best to shield Harrison, so we’ll see exactly how he decides to do that.
Over with Nick, he’ll struggle with a moral dilemma. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) won’t think Nick has anything to feel guilty about, but Nick will still feel responsible for Ashland’s death.
Of course, this isn’t Nick’s first rodeo with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), so he’s surely starting to suspect his father had his men put Ashland’s car in that ravine.
Nick may admit to Nikki that all this screams cover-up and wonder how he’s supposed to live with that, but Nikki won’t think her son should lose any sleep.
As far as Nikki is concerned, a ruthless monster is gone forever – and that should be good enough for her.
Meanwhile, Mariah will hide a secret from Tessa, but will that involve a pleasant surprise or something she’d rather not reveal?
It’s possible Mariah will come up with something to cheer Tessa up following her surgery and spring it on her.
Then again, Mariah might find out Tessa’s career has already been negatively affected in some way.
That’s the kind of thing that could make Mariah clam up – just to avoid making things worse.
Either way, Mariah probably won’t be successful at keeping this secret under wraps for long.
