The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, July 28 Recap – Victor Fakes Ashland’s Suicide – Sally Changes Her Mind

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, July 28, reveals that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will hint about faking Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) suicide, but Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will be suspicious. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will also change her mind about her future at Newman Media, so let’s talk about what’s ahead on Y&R.

At Crimson Lights, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) won’t be interested in discussing work or Sally’s Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) issues.

Sally will fish to find out what’s wrong, but Nick won’t want to talk about that either.

When Sally admits she’s going to call Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) in the morning and decline the CEO position, Nick will angrily warn against it.

Sally will explain how she overheard Adam’s true motives, but that won’t change anything for Nick.

Although Sally will think Nick’s being rather harsh, he just won’t want her to throw away this opportunity for a guy who stomped all over her heart.

Nick will get summoned to Newman Enterprises by Victor, but he’ll really hope Sally reconsiders this rash, terrible decision.

Afterward, Sally will meet with Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) in her office and explain the whole Adam situation.

Chloe will act like Adam might be playing mind games to boost his ego and won’t think Sally wants a life of her love being tested.

Even if Adam is being noble, Chloe will act like this would be an unstable, unhealthy relationship.

Once Chloe reminds Sally that she’s not a quitter, Sally will decide she’s right and that they’ll move forward full throttle tomorrow.

At Newman Enterprises, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will assure Victor that everyone on his security team has been briefed.

Victor will think the less that’s said, the better.

After Victor thanks Michael for coming through for the Newman family tonight, he’ll get a call from Chance.

Nick will show up and learn that Chance is on his way over, but he’ll be suspicious over how calm Victor and Michael seem.

Once Chance arrives, he’ll admit Ashland’s car was the one in the ravine.

Chance will also confirm Ashland was dead behind the wheel, so Nick will ask if he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

After Chance points out they’ll have to wait on the autopsy report, Victor will suggest he should break the news to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

Chance will wonder how Victor ended up at the house, so Victor will admit his security team alerted him to something being amiss.

The fact that he’s just now hearing about this will irritate Chance, but Victor will counter that Chance is just now asking.

Victor will claim that his security team saw Victoria and Nick leave the house in an agitated state, so they became alarmed and called him.

Chance will seem skeptical since Victor’s guys didn’t look in any windows or see Ashland, so Victor will suggest this is beginning to feel like an interrogation.

However, Chance will act like he’s just gathering information and head out.

That’ll leave Nick to question Victor and Michael about whether they’re keeping something from him.

Victor will guess Nick is blaming himself for Ashland’s death, but he’ll argue that there’s no need for that.

After Victor reminds Nick that he saved Victoria’s life, Michael will point out that Ashland shouldn’t have gotten behind the wheel.

Victor will even suggest that Ashland might’ve killed himself by driving into the ravine.

Michael will then bring up the possibility of a heart attack or other medical issue – like what happened with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso).

Nick will doubt those scenarios actually happened and will decide to take a drive to clear his head.

Once Victor is alone with Michael, he’ll thank him for handling everything.

Michael will point out that Chance is going to have more questions, but Victor will think they have good explanations.

Victor will tell the story of how Ashland woke up after being knocked out by Nick, exited through the back door and got in his car behind the house.

From there, Victor will suggest that Ashland realized he had nothing left to live for and drove into the ravine, where he met his end.

Michael will reply that it’s a completely plausible story – and that it’ll be impossible to prove otherwise.

At Society, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will have a girls’ night with Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and ask if there’s still a marketing position open at Marchetti.

Summer will worry that Phyllis only wants this job so she can keep an eye on Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and will fear the two of them would butt heads at work.

Phyllis will act like Summer keeps making everything about Diane when she really just wants to work with her daughter.

Summer will admit she’s a little jealous of Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) working with his mom and will keep an open mind about Phyllis coming on board.

When Nick walks in, he’ll give Summer updates on Ashland’s death in a car accident.

Summer will head home to talk to Kyle about how they’ll handle things with Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez), but she’ll vow to get back to Phyllis about her idea.

Nick will quiz Phyllis, who’ll downplay it as nothing and want to discuss Ashland.

Phyllis will suggest the bright side is that they never have to deal with Ashland again, so Nick will admit he thinks it’s really over.

At Crimson Lights, Chance will seem pensive as he sits in a booth and looks at Ashland’s ring.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chance’s investigation could bring some twists and turns, so stay tuned.
