The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, May 27 Recap – Adam Questions Chelsea’s Mental State – Kyle Witnesses Meltdown

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, May 27, reveals that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will question Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) mental state – and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will witness a shocking meltdown in the park. Let’s talk about what Y&R fans can expect.

At Society, Chelsea will rant over the phone about Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) being late for their meeting.

There’ll be a delayed fabric delivery that Chelsea flips out over, so Adam and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will notice nearby.

Once Chelsea leaves Chloe an angry voicemail, Adam will ask if everything is all right.

Chelsea will act like some people would love for something to be wrong with her, so Sally will assume Chelsea’s slinging baseless accusations again.

As Sally and Chelsea start bickering, Chloe will arrive and steer Chelsea toward a table to shut it down.

Chelsea will remain agitated as Chloe discusses work and will end up snapping about Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) being on a spa vacation when a man is dead because of her.

Chloe won’t think a spa vacation is such a bad thing and will invite Chelsea to take a girls’ trip with her to New York.

However, Chelsea will fire back about not needing a babysitter and will find the whole thing patronizing.

After Chelsea declares that she’s not stupid, she’ll leave in a huff. Meanwhile, Adam will seem worried as he watches Chelsea’s outburst.

After expressing concern to Sally, Adam will corner Chloe to ask about Chelsea’s mental state.

Chloe will suggest Adam doesn’t have the context to make accusations, but he’ll be concerned for Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) sake.

Once Chloe admits how much Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) death has affected Chelsea, she’ll assure Adam that Chelsea is a great mom.

Chloe will think Chelsea is just rattled and a little angry at the world right now.

Even so, Adam will seem uneasy as he tells Sally about Rey being the reason for Chelsea’s crisis. Adam will get the feeling that whatever’s going on with Chelsea is about more than grieving a friend.

Later, Chelsea will throw her purse and scream in the park.

Kyle will spot Chelsea’s unsettling behavior and check on her, but she’ll downplay it as an overreaction to a problem at work.

At the Abbott house, Jack will come home to find Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) following a visit with Kyle and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez).

Once Kyle talks about putting Diane up in a hotel for a while, Jack will push him to be careful since there’s no turning back.

Diane will encourage Jack to ease up and will thank Kyle for that time with Harrison.

Before Diane goes, she’ll suggest that maybe Harrison could call her “Didi” since it’s easy to say and doesn’t have to mean anything significant.

Kyle will like that a lot, but Jack certainly won’t as he eavesdrops on the conversation.

Once they’re alone, Jack will warn Kyle about how Diane is already insinuating herself into his life and taking liberties.

Kyle will agree, but he’ll point out that Diane is still his mom.

Since Kyle will believe Diane about wanting to make up for her mistakes and do better, he’ll wish Jack could keep an open mind.

Jack will promise to do his best for Kyle’s sake, so they’ll shift gears as Kyle makes a pitch for Jabot to buy Marchetti.

Although Jack will be intrigued by the business proposal, he’ll wonder how much Diane factors into all this.

Kyle will insist that Diane honestly isn’t a factor at all.

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will push Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) to convince Kyle to put his family first and get Diane out of town.

Summer will refuse to give Kyle any ultimatums and won’t be so sure it’s a bad idea to have Diane around.

After Summer reflects on the time she lost when Phyllis was in a coma, Phyllis will point out that wasn’t her choice and isn’t the same as Diane abandoning Kyle.

Summer will try to work the Jack and Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) angle as well, but Phyllis will think that was a different situation.

After Summer suggests Phyllis’ stance on Diane is more about her own hatred, she’ll argue that Kyle is the only one who matters here.

Phyllis just won’t want Summer to underestimate the emotional damage Diane could do to Kyle and their marriage.

Once Summer insists her marriage is secure, she’ll bring up the possibility of Jabot purchasing Marchetti and moving operations back to Genoa City.

Phyllis will love the thought of having Summer close again, but she’ll worry that Diane was the driving force behind this decision.

Summer will deny it since Kyle moved to Milan to support her dreams. Now Summer is realizing that she’s missing a lot by living so far away.

Once Diane gets settled at the athletic club, Jack will show up at her door to deliver a warning.

Although Jack will choose to support Diane and believe she wants to be this changed woman, he’ll want her to understand what’ll happen if she’s lying.

Jack will make it clear that if Diane has some ulterior motive, then he’ll make her regret ever coming back.

Diane will give Jack her word that she would never hurt Kyle again.

Once Diane talks about how she and Kyle are good for each other, she’ll think it’d bring Jack happiness if he could realize that.

Diane will know what it’s like to be lonely and uncertain about life, but Jack won’t get where this is coming from.

After Jack says his life is in a good place both professionally and personally, Diane will guess this is a case where she’s wrong.

Jack will look pensive as he leaves, but Diane will seem pleased over getting inside his head.

As Diane looks at a picture of Harrison on her phone, she’ll gush about how he’s going to be spending lots of time with his “Didi” and grin.

Back with Jack, he’ll meet up with Phyllis and mull over the potential Marchetti purchase with her.

Phyllis will insist they can’t let Diane stick around, but Jack will point out that she’s already acting like she belongs and even had a nickname for Harrison to call her.

Phyllis will declare that Diane went away once and needs to go away again!

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane and Phyllis’ war could get out of hand as this storyline moves along.
