The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Mishael Morgan revealed her exit decision and clarified her status as Amanda Sinclair on Y&R. Morgan decided to set the record straight since fans were expressing concern and confusion, but we should talk about another social media post first.
Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) recently hinted that Mishael Morgan might be out, but then she backtracked a bit with a follow-up post later.
It seems that led to Morgan offering her own clarification.
On Instagram, Stafford posted a great photo of herself standing next to Morgan and offered a glowing review of her costar.
However, some fans couldn’t help but feel like Stafford’s comments sounded a lot like a goodbye message.
“My super amazing EMMY winning friend! I have had so much fun with you the past 3 years.
I love the friendship we created on screen. And the friendship we created off screen,” Stafford insisted.
Stafford went on to talk about all the incredible developments happening in Morgan’s life and how excited she was for her future.
That made it seem like Morgan was focusing on other projects – and based on Morgan’s own latest Instagram story, that’s indeed what she’s doing.
Morgan shot a video after returning to set following a lengthy break.
That offered some insight into Morgan’s mindset and confirmed that she decided to take a step back from the show.
“I just wrapped for my last scenes back…and I just wanted to let the cat out of the bag a little bit,” Morgan said.
The Y&R star acknowledged that she wasn’t in the main credits anymore and assured everyone that she made that choice herself last December.
Morgan talked about wanting to explore other opportunities, which meant pulling back from the CBS soap somewhat. “I just felt like at this point in my life and this point in my career, I wanted to mix things up a little bit,” Morgan insisted.
Fortunately, it looks like Morgan was part of the recent cast photo – and she was quick to remind fans that she’s still on recurring.
Morgan considers Genoa City home and is grateful for a safe place to land, so Amanda can still do return stints.
