The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) may use Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) as a pawn in her game. Will Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) trusted friend expose framed Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) sabotage?
Kyle has opened up to Mariah about his mother on more than one occasion, so she’s tried to be understanding about his situation.
Mariah also mentioned how she was over PR in addition to marketing now, so Diane is reporting to her.
There has to be a reason why Y&R is establishing this Mariah and Diane work connection.
It seems likely Mariah will be the one to uncover what’ll appear to be Diane’s Marchetti sabotage.
We can’t forget that Phyllis plans to set Diane up and make it look like she’s doing damage to the company for personal gain.
Phyllis can’t expose this herself or it’ll be way too suspicious.
The better idea would be for Kyle to find out from someone else – someone with no real ties to Phyllis at all.
Who better to expose Diane than Mariah, who is a close friend of Kyle’s and someone he trusts implicitly?
It’d be easy for Mariah to believe Phyllis’ planted evidence and take it to Kyle.
Mariah might insist she hates to break Kyle’s heart like this, but she’ll also believe he deserves the truth.
Furthermore, Mariah will be obligated to report any red flags she sees in Diane’s work – and she’s probably going to see some big ones thanks to Phyllis’ setup.
Of course, this could make Phyllis’ scheme doubly hurtful once the truth comes out.
It’s bad enough that Phyllis is framing Kyle’s mom, but now she might end up dragging his bestie into that plot.
Phyllis won’t get away with this forever, so Kyle will eventually rage over her making Diane a target and potentially putting Mariah in the center of the mess.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis’ sneaky plan will move forward, so Mariah could become a useful tool in Diane’s takedown.
