The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will contemplate a wildcard hire when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) pursues a Marchetti position and a chance to destroy Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
Phyllis has been spinning out ever since Diane came to town, so she’s been making some questionable decisions lately.
It turns out Phyllis is about to make another one since she’ll apparently consider selling her baby to settle the score and gain the upper hand on Diane.
Of course, the baby here would be Phyllis’ beloved hotel. Phyllis considers The Grand Phoenix to be a representation of herself and how she’s risen from the ashes.
However, there’s no denying that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is offering Phyllis a great deal.
Phyllis won’t get a better offer and could pursue other opportunities if she moved forward with the sale.
It looks like Phyllis will explore one of those opportunities when she fishes for info about Marchetti and hints to Summer that she’d like to join the team.
This isn’t coming completely out of the blue since Summer offered Phyllis a job while she was still working in Italy.
Phyllis opted to turn down a marketing position and stay in Genoa City, but things have changed now that Marchetti has moved their base of operations to GC.
That’s especially true since Diane scored a job in the PR department, which is obviously driving Phyllis up the wall.
Phyllis can’t handle the idea of Diane working at Marchetti, which means Diane is working for Jabot and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), too.
Diane’s job enables her to further ensconce herself into the Abbott family – and that simply won’t do as far as Phyllis is concerned.
Phyllis can potentially sell The Grand Phoenix and lock in that marketing job or another gig that’d let her entrench herself, too.
The problem is that Summer will see right through Phyllis’ flimsy attempt to cover her true motives.
Summer will think this sudden career shift has more to do with Diane than Phyllis is letting on.
Nevertheless, Summer may like the thought of her mom coming on board.
It’s just a matter of whether Phyllis and Diane can work at the same company without killing each other!
Kyle may have some reservations about Phyllis as a wildcard hire – and the same goes for Summer since she knows how her mom operates.
This decision will require some serious thought, but Kyle and Summer may ultimately hire Phyllis on a trial basis or under the condition that she can learn to get along with Diane.
Although Phyllis may promise to play nice, we all know she won’t!
This could be a disaster waiting to happen when it comes to escalating Diane and Phyllis’ feud.
Whatever the case, Phyllis will work to land a job at Marchetti and put herself in a better position to destroy Diane.
Perhaps Phyllis will try to get Diane fired once she’s close enough to the situation to sabotage her.
