The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) marriage could end up on the rocks. Will a Kyle Abbott (last played by Michael Mealor) divorce threat bring the looming recast home to GC?
If you haven’t heard by now, the show put out a casting call for the new Summer Newman.
Y&R intends to bring someone else on as a replacement for Hunter King, so we should go ahead and start thinking about what this means for Summer’s marriage.
It’s possible Summer and Kyle will remain madly in love.
In that case, Kyle might simply have to stay in Italy for work a bit longer than Summer.
They could do a long-distance relationship until the show can either get Michael Mealor to return or find the right Kyle recast.
However, the better option would be for Summer to come back to Genoa City and admit her marriage is falling apart.
Summer could return separated from Kyle and feel the threat of divorce hanging over them.
Summer might need advice from her loved ones as she contemplates whether this should really be the end of the road.
Things aren’t always as they seem in a marriage, so maybe Summer and Kyle’s life together in Italy isn’t as wonderful as they’d have everyone believe.
It might be smart to break Kyle and Summer up so Y&R can slowly put them back together again, especially since one or more recasts will be involved.
Perhaps the goal will be to introduce the new Summer and eventually get everyone used to the new Kyle as he tries to reunite with her.
Regardless, it looks like Summer may hit town without Kyle initially – and that leaves the door open for some marriage difficulties that send Summer running home to her parents.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) may have to offer guidance once Summer’s relationship drama erupts.
