Tessa Porter’s Diagnosis
Y&R spoilers reveal that Tessa has experienced a sore throat for a few weeks. Tessa didn’t think it was a big deal and even suggested it was just allergies.
However, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) urged Tessa to get checked out by a doctor.
When Tessa returned from her appointment, she was in a state of shock. Tessa finally told Mariah that she has vocal cord nodules and might need surgery.
Even with surgery and the best treatment, there is still a chance Tessa’s singing career could be over.

Tessa and Mariah made arrangements to get counsel from Elena.
Not only is Elena in the medical field but her uncle – also a singer – had to go through treatment for the same condition as Tessa.
Elena shared that her uncle made a full recovery and celebrated with a comeback tour.
Elena also mentioned speaking with Tessa’s doctor and the chances are good that she will recover and go on singing her heart out.
However, Tessa’s main concern was if she would sing again. Tessa made it clear that her primary focus was on her career.
Mariah tried to gently remind Tessa that her health comes first. However, it’s obvious that Tessa is prioritizing her career over her health.
Elena Dawson’s Warning
The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Elena got the hint that Tessa’s priorities were a bit mixed up. Elena warned Tessa not to rush her recovery.
However, with Tessa panicking over having to postpone her concerns and tour indefinitely, she will want to get back to singing as quickly as possible.
As Tessa keeps mentioning, her career is just taking off, so this diagnosis could destroy everything she’s worked so hard for.

It is possible that Tessa might have a complication during surgery that ends her career.
Of course, it’s also likely that Tessa ignores everyone’s warnings and rushes the recovery.
If Tessa goes back to singing too soon, she could do more damage. That could end Tessa’s singing career.
Fairbanks said in an interview with SOD that singing is Tessa’s entire identity. So, if her singing career is over, Tessa would lose her identity.
That would lead to Tessa not knowing what to do next, which could have her to go into a deep depression. If this happens, how bad will it get?
