The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tuesday, August 16 Recap – Sally Shuts Down Adam’s Game – Chelsea Calls Out Billy

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 16, teases that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will shut down Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) game while Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) calls out boring Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

At Chancellor Winters, Lily Winters (Christel Khali) will find a gift box and a note from Billy.

Once Lily smiles over the gesture, she’ll leave Billy a grateful voicemail and decide she’ll wait to open it so she can thank him in person.

In the podcast studio, Chelsea will leave crumbs behind while snacking and poke fun at Billy’s uptight organization system.

Billy will ask if Chelsea thinks he’s become boring and predictable since he started dating Lily, but she’ll insist this is all on him.

Chelsea will act like Billy needs to loosen up and live a little, but the vibe between them will be flirty and fun.

After Billy says they should talk about Chelsea’s issues instead, she’ll smile and urge him to bring it on since she’s had plenty of therapy.

At Crimson Lights, Sally will bump into Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and fish for official updates on the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) investigation.

Once Chance stonewalls Sally, she’ll talk about Adam pumping her for info like she knows something – though she’ll act like that notion is ridiculous.

Sally will suggest Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and her family deserve to move on from the Locke era, but Chance’s silence will let her know something’s brewing.

As Chance leaves, Adam will appear and give Sally a hard time about trying to wheedle info out of the detective.

Adam will admit he was going to agree to Sally’s proposition and offer his true breakup feelings, but now he’ll think she’s bluffing on her end.

Sally will argue that she simply didn’t want to tell Chance what Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) told her.

Once Sally grows tired of Adam treating this like a game, she’ll claim she has no insider info and storm out.

At the ranch, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will tell Nick, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about the driver of Ashland’s car smoking on the security footage.

That’ll lead to concerns about a DNA test on the cigarette butt and the possibility that the dots could connect to Victor.

Nick will think they should get out in front of this and will suggest hiring a crisis PR firm.

Victor will counter that they should wait to see what happens with the evidence first and will mention his little chat with Sally earlier.

Nick will rant about Victor’s intimidation tactics and argue that it’ll look like there’s a cover-up if they don’t report like the other outlets.

In the end, Nick will realize the family isn’t on his side, so he’ll have to pay Sally another visit and ask her to curtail the coverage.

At Society, Noah will join Victor for a drink and ask why he didn’t say anything about Ashland during their last meeting. It’ll be obvious that Noah has some concerns.

Victor will admit Noah’s instincts are right, so Noah will realize something’s coming – though Victor will offer reassurance about protecting the family.

In the park, Victoria will catch up with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), who’ll insist he’s there to listen if she wants to vent about “that bastard” Ashland.

Victoria will appreciate Nate’s candor, but she’ll want to talk about something else and will quiz him about Chancellor-Winters.

Nate will admit corporate life has brought some challenges, including the complications of working with family.

Victoria will relate to that, but she’ll feel confident Nate can adapt after these initial growing pains.

Meanwhile, Devon will bring Lily up to speed on the latest drama with Nate.

After Lily says they’ll work it out, Devon will insist they have to since they can’t go on like this.

Back at Society, Chance will show up for takeout and cross paths with Adam.

After Chance refuses to join forces to investigate Victor, Adam will point out that he can still fly solo.

After Adam suggests he knows what makes Sally tick and could help Chance find out what she knows, Chance will call him a real piece of work.

Once Chance rants about Adam’s lousy treatment of Sally, Adam will act like he’s probably not cut out for a lifetime of commitment.

Chance will ultimately urge Adam to stop wallowing, get a life and find a better path – if not for himself, then for Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). Adam will act like this is as good as it gets, so Chance will leave in disgust.

At Newman Enterprises on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Victor will check on Victoria since things were tense at the ranch before.

Victoria will mostly be worried about Nick, who hasn’t had a chance to process what he did to Ashland and is now fretting over Victor going to prison.

However, Victor will insist that won’t happen and will push for patience.

At Newman Media, Nick will admit more info will probably be coming out soon regarding Ashland’s death.

Sally will hope to put Nick’s mind at ease and will insist she’s not touching this story.

After Sally says she’s fed up with people who pry into personal lives for personal gain, she’ll call it disgusting and sensationalist.

Sally will assure Nick that if this news is truly monumental, then they’ll cover the facts and move on – not drag this out in the headlines day after day.

Nick will be surprised since he expected pushback and will think it’s cool that Sally’s on the same page with his family.

Sally will contend that they’re all on the same team and will suggest Ashland has already taken enough from the Newmans.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally will continue to make some surprising moves as Newman Media’s CEO, so stay tuned to Y&R.
