The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, January 4, teases that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will have a nasty showdown while Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) insists she’s the boss of Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
At the coffeehouse, Sally will be eager to rub her victory in Chelsea’s face. She’ll assume she interrupted Chelsea’s attempt to spend New Year’s Eve with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) – and she’ll be right about that.
Sally will be on cloud nine after her own New Year’s Eve with Adam, so she’ll work it into the conversation and hope it stings a bit.
What Sally won’t know is that Chelsea’s already privy to her time at the office with Adam.
That’ll probably just add to Chelsea’s anger as Sally plays up their brainstorming session – at least that’s what she’ll frame it as.
Sally may reflect on the fashions in the Hitchcock movie she watched with Adam and suggest including some old Hollywood styles on the platform.
Regardless, nothing Sally says will be right as far as Chelsea’s concerned. Chelsea will veto all Sally’s ideas, but Sally will suspect this about their Adam feud.
Sally will push even harder until an all-out war threatens to erupt, but Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will arrive in the nick of time.
Y&R spoilers say Chloe will avert disaster by sending the women to their corners, but she’ll know she can’t truly resolve Sally and Chelsea’s conflict.
However, Chloe will think Adam has the power to end this battle if he removes himself from the equation entirely.
Adam may feel like he’s already as distant as he can be under the circumstances. After all, Chelsea and Sally are both Newman Media employees.
Still, Chloe may argue that Adam can’t be hanging out with Sally after hours or hanging out with Chelsea without Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) present.
Chloe’s goal is to shut down this love triangle, so she’ll deliver a warning and hope Adam listens.
Maybe Chloe will take a little trip down memory lane with Adam and talk about Chelsea’s stint in a psychiatric facility. The last thing they need is a repeat of Chelsea losing it, so Chloe will want Adam to be mindful of that.
Nevertheless, there’ll be more hostility between Adam and Chelsea soon.
Adam won’t appreciate how Chelsea’s nagging him about Sally and trying to nail down how he feels about her.
Adam will want Chelsea to butt out since this doesn’t concern Connor, but Chelsea will realize it could if Adam and Sally’s romance blossoms.
Chelsea may work herself into a tizzy thinking that Sally might build a family with Adam someday.
Chelsea definitely can’t stand by and let that happen! For now, Chelsea will work on setting a trap that’s sure to catch Sally off guard as 2022 kicks off.
Meanwhile, Victoria will meet with Lily and Billy at The Grand Phoenix, where it won’t take long for tension to explode.
Lily will fume over Victoria’s controlling nature, but Victoria will make it clear that they’re playing by her rules whether they like it or not.
Billy may end up siding with Victoria since keeping her quiet has to be the priority.
Victoria could blab to Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) about Billy’s fake downward spiral, so he’ll have a motive to keep her satisfied.
It’ll be Lily who senses big trouble based on Victoria’s new demands.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria will stand her ground on being the boss, so Lily and Billy will have to put up with it for now.
