The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, June 21, teases that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will return with a surprise while Gloria Fisher-Bardwell (Judith Chapman) hopes to be the fixer. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will also figure out his next career move, so let’s talk about what’s brewing.
Once Phyllis makes it home from spending some time with Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei), she’ll have an announcement to make – at least to Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier).
Summer will find out Phyllis has made an attitude adjustment and now wants to move beyond all her anger.
Of course, Summer will need to put her mother to the test, so she’ll insist on arranging a meeting between Phyllis and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
Since Summer is still concerned about this battle and what it could lead to, she’ll push Phyllis to prove she’s mellowed and call a truce.
Summer won’t give Phyllis much of a choice, so Phyllis will head to the park and face Diane to hash things out.
Diane will learn that Phyllis’ homecoming has brought a surprise perspective shift, so she’ll be on board – even if she struggles to believe it’s legit.
Phyllis and Diane will agree to put all the conflict to rest for the sake of their kids, so Summer will hope that’s the end of it.
Kyle should also be glad over the news, but Phyllis’ truce is obviously going to be short-lived.
Although Phyllis will try to make amends with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) using this truce, it won’t be long until it goes right out the window.
Phyllis’ hatred for Diane runs too deep, so she’ll eventually become a partner to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) as they work to get rid of their mutual enemy.
Until then, Kyle will decide a solo gig running Marchetti sounds fresh and exciting.
This is a real opportunity for Kyle to spread his wings, so he’ll decide to step down as Jack’s co-CEO and tackle this new challenge on his own.
Finally, Gloria will interrupt Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) as they spar over their current fashion line as well as any other endeavors – like a potential collaboration with Marchetti.
Gloria will offer her spiritual guru services and possibly push a few buttons, so Chloe and Chelsea may make peace to shut her up!
