On tonight’s #AmericasGotTalent episode, it was Night Five of the Qualifiers! Up first was Eduardo Antonio Trevino. He was a singer. He was also an adorable little boy and, if nothing else, he deserves votes just for that alone. But he was talented on top of having those dimples.

He along with his Mariarchi band were truly exceptional. They sounded amazing. They had a killer audition. Eduardo wanted to follow that up with even better performance of “Remember Me”. He sang it both English as well as Spanish. The song was originally performed in a Disney movie. It was very heartfelt. And Eduardo managed to hit all those high notes.

Eduardo got a standing ovation after his performance. Everyone loved it. The judges were a part of that standing ovation and they only had great things to say about his performance tonight. Eduardo was keeping his culture alive. He was also paying homage to his great-grandfather with his talent. It was clear he came from a musical family and hopefully he makes it into the next round. Next up was Grace Good. She was an aerial artist and practically an expert on the hula hoop. She managed to combine both talents into a thrilling performance.

Only she went into tonight with hastily put together plan. Her audition had been nearly a year of work. Her performance tonight was crafted after she took to social media and asked them for advice. It probably was concerning that her fans advocated for her adding actual fire to her act. Grace hasn’t worked with fire before. She only gave it a chance tonight because she was trying to up the ante and pyrotechnics wasn’t for everyone. She had a few hiccups. They were very notable with everything being on fire because people were paying attention to make sure nothing caught fire.

Heidi gave her a standing ovation. She later said that she loved seeing a fearless woman onstage. Sofia had great things to say as well and so Howie was the one to burst the bubble. He noticed all the mistakes. He made sure everyone else knew about those mistakes. Lachuné was up next. She was a beautiful singer. Her voice was very ethereal. She had a killer audition and so selecting her song for tonight was a hard one. She ultimately chose to go with “Simply the Best” because she felt her twist on it could make it her own.

Lachuné hadn’t been wrong when she said she would make it sound different. It sounded like an original song and not like the great Tina Turner once performed it. It was so well done that Simon loved it. Simon of all people! He enjoyed it. Howie not so much. He was being a bit of hater because he said she sometimes felt lost in the song and so the judges kept pressing the reject button whenever he started talking until he got the hint to stop. He shut up. Lachuné got to shine in the glow of everyone’s approval and soon it was onto the next one.

Eseniia Mikheeva was next. She was this little bitty girl that loves to dance. She was so cute. She goes everywhere with her stuffed dog toy and her moving her little legs to dance was just adorable. She was just seven yet she could dance with some of the greatest. Everyone loved watching her perform. They weren’t paying attention to the routine or anything. They just saw Eseniia and she put a smile on everyone’s face. And when asked, she still doesn’t know why she’s so cute!

Next up was Mandy Muden. She was a magician. She took a very interesting turn in how she performs magic. She makes it a bit cheeky and lots of fun. She got Simon to smile last time. She was hoping to pull off a second miracle with her performance tonight. And she did not fail. She had everyone laughing. She pulled off a neat magic trick. She also proved that by putting in the work and giving it her all that she deserved a place in the Finals. Spots were quickly filling up. The performances were only getting better and so the rest have to be flawless if they wish to make it to the end.

Avantgardey were up next. They were a dance group that hailed from Japan. They too put an interesting twist on their performance. They had stellar moves, but their wigs and makeup gave them a kind of eerie look. A bit scary. A bit intimidating. They also danced to music that most people in the States wouldn’t have heard before and so they brought forth something new onstage. Heidi later said it was like watching dolls come to life. She really enjoyed their performance. So did the audience.

Howie borrowed one of their wigs afterwards. He looked good in it. Before you knew it, it was the Trailer Flowers’s turn. They were Country musicians. They call themselves rednecks. They were the best of friends and they wanted to impress the judges with another original song tonight. The song was good. It was catchy. The execution was a little meh. Howie didn’t really like it. Howie pressed Heidi’s reject button during the performance. He also seemed to dismiss it while it was going on. He was clearly not a fan and neither were the other judges.

Heidi thought it sounded a bit like screeching. She said it would be amazing for home. Just not AGT. Sofia agreed with her and Simon said he liked them. He simply wished they chose a different song. It was the song that worked against them tonight. Next up was Ramadhani Brothers. They were really brothers. They pulled off daring and dangerous acrobatics. The judges once said they were the most dangerous acts they’ve ever seen and so they kept up that momentum. They went for bigger as well as scarier for tonight.

It was exciting to watch them move. No one was hurt. Which in itself was a miracle. The brothers got to stand out for their strength and skill and the judges were literally on their feet the whole time. Simone would later call their performance “spellbinding”. He said that was a million dollar act. Heidi called them amazing. Sofia said she’s been thinking about their act since the auditions and that they were truly unforgettable. And even Howie (who’s been crapping on almost everyone tonight) had said that they deserve to be in the finale.

Next up was Gabriel Henrique. He was from Brazil. He doesn’t really know much English. He needed an interpreter to communicate only he was a talented singer and he has no problem singing in English. He impressed their judges last time with a famous song. He now wanted to switch things up by performing a rare song. One that the judges wouldn’t normally recognize. All except for Simon that is because he loved the song. Gabriel took a risk tonight and it paid off when he hit that especially high note.

It also helped that the choir he was performing with had helped keep the music light and clean. He had a stellar performance. The singing acts have been truly on point tonight. Can Sangsoon Kim keep the energy going with an entirely different act? He was a magician. He uses everything around him. It was his dream to one day perform in the magic capital of the world. That being Vegas. Sangsoon’s act tonight was a bit of a step down from his audition and, while it had good parts, it was mostly disappointing. They knew he was capable of more.

The final performance of the night was the 82nd Airborne Chorus. They were a singing choir. They represent the nineteen thousand men and women that serve in the airborne division. They chose “My Girl” last time. Tonight they wanted to do something more dynamic. They chose the song “I Am Here” by Pink. Their performance tonight was stunning. They actually stepped it up a notch and they were at ease during the performance. They usually were at attention. Tonight they just enjoyed themselves and the audience got to enjoy them.

And Howie thanked them for their service because they kept every American safe.

THE END!
