In tonight’s East New York episode, Regina is walking hr dog when she is surprised by Sean who has coffee for her. She plays hard to get, citing her schedule. Back at work, she welcomes Andre back. He tells her he is fit for duty. Meanwhile, Marvin talks to Stan about returning to duty on the beat. He is not a house mouse he tells him.
Marvin and Andre are working when they get a call for a fire alarm. Inside a dispensary store front they find several people locked in a safe. They let them out. They were robbed and put in their by several men. Regina arrives. The business owner named Jamal remembers her from when she put him away for marijuana. He did 4 years and now its legal. He shares that he was also robbed of roughly $80k in cash. That will end his business.
Back at headquarters, the team goes over suspects and what they know. Meanwhile, John meets with a mayoral candidate. He wants John to be his police commissioner. John can think of so many better officers with Moree experience.
Tommy and Crystal see that the chef at Tommy’s girlfriend’s restaurant is actually an investor for Jamal’s business. They take him in. Tommy has had it out for him, Crystal points out. After talking with him, Tommy tells him they need to hold him. Crystal pulls him aside. They don’t have evidence. He believes they will find it.
John sits and talks to the mayoral candidates’ PR consultant. She loves John’s views and wants him to share them as PC. John asks her about her opinion of the candidate. She thinks he has some good views and plans.
Tommy and Crystal visit a man who was shot near the robbery area. Thee man says that he is looking for a new place to live. They don’t seem to be buying it.
Andre asks Marvin why they keep getting back up called in on their calls. Does someone think they cannot handle their load?
Tommy is taken off of his case by Regina. She has Troy join Crystal on the case. Tommy is not happy. Later, Crystal and Tommy discover a connection between the man who was shot near the robbery and a government worker. They were in the military together. Meanwhile, Regina feels guilty about Jamal and his time in jail. She vents to Sean.
The government employee gives them information into how the dispensary was robbed. He also knows who is getting hit next. The team all get into their street clothes and get ready for a sting. Andre seems nervous. He starts to have a panic attack. Inside the dispensary, Crystal and Brandy have two men pull a gun on them. Andre stands outside trying to deal with his anxiety. He goes back in and with the help of the others they stop the robbery.
Regina talks to the suspect and tracks down Jamal’s money. Meanwhile, Tommy apologizes to his fiancé’s cook, George. Unfortunately, Tommy’s fiancé is not happy. She calls him a bully and then breaks up with him.
Regina and John meet up. She wants to give Jamal his money back. He gives her the green light. John shares that he is open to be a police commissioner but he does have boundaries.
Andre shares how scared he was with Marvin who tells him he came back in to face thee robbery. That’s what matters. Regina gives the money to Jamal before meeting Sean for a drink. She kisses him after and freaks out, leaving.
