General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, January 13 Recap – Nina Calls Carly Monster – Josslyn Lawyers Up Over PCPD Ambush

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, January 13, reveals that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) wasn’t happy to learn Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was texting Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez), but Trina felt that Spencer needed a friend right now.

Trina also talked about how she previously wanted revenge, but she was now torn since Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) looked so pathetic and vulnerable on The Haunted Star.

That left Trina considering the possibility that amnesia changed Esme, but she assured Portia and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) that she’d never trust her.

Nevertheless, Trina was ready to move on with her life, but Portia didn’t see how reconnecting with Spencer would help.

Trina defended her friendship since Spencer had matured, but she ultimately felt this was her call to make.

After Trina stomped off, Portia told Curtis she wouldn’t sit back and watch Spencer worm his way back into her daughter’s heart.

At Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) penthouse, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) talked to Spencer about Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) death and Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) “baby daddy” news.

Spencer assumed that if Esme wiggled out of trouble, she’d take the baby as far away as possible.

Alexis informed Spencer that Nikolas was going after full custody, but Spencer clearly didn’t think his father would be a good parent to this child either.

After the conversation shifted to “The Hook” and who it might be, Alexis wondered if Esme had anyone who was important to her other than Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom).

Spencer admitted there was someone who was very devoted to Esme – maybe even devoted enough to kill for her.

That led to Spencer spilling about Maggie Fitzgerald, Esme’s nanny in London who warned against any contact with her biological father.

Alexis found out Spencer had previously gone to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) hoping she could find more info on Maggie.

At GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) explained to Sonny that she’d been called away, so he agreed to sit with Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and fill Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) in.

Meanwhile, Josslyn headed to the PCPD, where Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) led her into the interrogation room.

Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) were waiting with surveillance footage from near the pier the night Britt was attacked.

Although Robert and Jordan assured Josslyn that she wasn’t in trouble, they felt confident she was the intended target and pushed for her cooperation.

Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) arrived and warned that her client wouldn’t be saying one word, so Joss flashed a smile.

After Diane helped Josslyn privately craft a statement, Joss told the cops that she was indeed on the pier when someone wearing a mask came after her with a hook.

Josslyn said that Britt came to her rescue and told her to run, so she did.

As for why Josslyn waited to come forward, she said she only found out about Britt’s fate a couple hours ago and then she had a family emergency.

Dante spoke to Josslyn privately and wondered what the family emergency was about.

At the hospital again, Michael threatened to get a restraining order against Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) if he had to.

Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) said Michael didn’t want to do that since Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) could be a bone marrow match.

Michael worried that Nina was a distant relative, but Drew offered an offscreen explanation about Nina being Willow’s birth mom.

Once Michael processed Drew’s updates, he knew Willow needed to hear this bombshell from him.

Next, Sonny made a sweet speech by Willow’s bedside about how Michael couldn’t lose her.

Sonny didn’t want to lose Willow either since his hope for restoring his family would die, too.

That said, Sonny wanted Willow to survive no matter what, so Michael overheard part of Sonny’s speech and seemed moved by it.

Once Michael thanked Sonny for staying with Willow, he spoke to his fiancée alone and begged her to stick around since she was his conscience.

Willow woke up and realized Michael was keeping something from her based on his expression.

Michael said it was about Nina, but Willow warned she never wanted to hear that woman’s name again.

Back with Sonny, he found Drew and wondered why Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was in the chapel with Nina.

Drew said it wasn’t his place to share, but Sonny needed answers and wanted to know what was going on with his family.

In the chapel, Carly told Nina that she might be the only person on earth who could help Willow.

Nina was happy to get tested like everyone else, but Carly insisted Nina wasn’t like everybody else and needed to do it ASAP.

After Carly revealed that Nina was a related donor match, Nina asked if Carly was all right and struggled to understand why Carly thought she’d be related to Willow.

Carly admitted Nina had another daughter besides Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) and that Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) split the twins up.

Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) didn’t know about the second baby girl, but Carly said Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) told her Nina was Willow’s mother the night she died.

Nina acted like Harmony’s wild story wasn’t proof, but Carly revealed she stole samples and ran a DNA test that was a 99.9 percent mother-daughter match.

Since Nina was still in disbelief, she said she’d get her own DNA test and considered the possibility this was some bizarre revenge plot.

Carly argued that she wouldn’t do that when Willow needed healthy blood-forming cells from a relative – and that relative was Nina.

After Nina flashed back to both pleasant and infuriating moments with Willow, it all seemed to click into place.

Carly said Nina could hate her all she wanted and that the feeling was mutual, but Nina needed to go get tested now.

Nina called Carly a monster and ranted about her trying to wreck her family.

After Carly once again pushed Nina to get tested, Nina snapped that Carly shouldn’t tell her what to do.

“Go to hell, you selfish bitch!” Nina shouted before declaring she was going to save her daughter.

In Willow’s room, she pushed Michael to promise her that he’d keep Nina away from Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver) if she didn’t make it.

When Nina entered, Willow warned her to get out and said she wanted Nina out of her life for good.

Nina was sorry, but she tearfully told Willow that her life may depend on her.

Back with Carly, she urged Sonny to back off Drew and seemed ready to come clean to her ex.
