General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, March 6 Recap – Esme Bans Spencer from Ace – Sonny Rages Over Nik's Avery Threat

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, March 6, reveals that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) got Ava Jerome (Maura West) to join them for drinks. They all had something to celebrate since Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) was a bone marrow match for Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Ava had cut Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) loose.

After Nina left the table to deal with a work crisis, Ava assured Sonny that she wouldn’t be reuniting with Nikolas.

Although Sonny was pleased about Nikolas being out of the picture, he found it strange that Nik hadn’t been in touch due to the revelations about Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and the birth of his baby.

Meanwhile, Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) stopped Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) from entering the Metro Court restaurant.

Austin tried to brush Mason off, but Mason said he followed his cousin to Spoon Island and saw everything.

After Mason dropped hints about the tack room, he made it clear that Austin should keep doing his job and stay in line.

Mason also suggested Ava was someone who knew when it was time to fight and when it was time to negotiate.

Next, Austin ran into Nina, who seemed quite curious about his new connection to Ava since they’d been so inseparable lately.

Ava had a tough exterior, but Nina urged Austin to see that Ava was actually vulnerable under the surface.

Back with Ava, she admitted to Sonny that Nikolas had threatened to take Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) away from her, but she acted like it was ridiculous for him to even suggest it.

Sonny was livid over the threat anyway, so he hinted about finding Nikolas in hiding and said he could help Ava if Nik was holding something over her.

At GH, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) wheeled Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) in for their appointment with Terry Randolph (Cassandra James), but Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) insisted Willow didn’t have to be there for this part.

Willow wanted to join Liesl anyway and was grateful for her potentially life-saving bone marrow gift.

Liesl talked about not being able to save Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), so she was glad to find more family in Willow and be able to do this for her.

Even so, Willow and Michael seemed curious about what else Obrecht expected out of this.

Liesl acknowledged that Willow might never think of Nina as her mother, but she at least hoped Willow could imagine a time when she’d think of Nina as more than an enemy.

If Willow could do that, it’d be all the thanks Obrecht needed.

Although Willow pointed out she couldn’t forget the past, Liesl reflected on bonding with Britt over the last few years and becoming friends in addition to their mother-daughter bond.

That left Liesl hopeful that maybe Nina and Willow could reach that place in their own relationship.

After Terry took Obrecht off for more tests, Nina came out of the elevator and locked eyes with Willow in the hallway.

At The Invader, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) explained how she caught Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) in a lie since she talked to Dean Jeffries, who confirmed Gregory no longer worked at PCU.

Gregory was unwilling to divulge his big secret, but he insisted Alexis should let this go and made it clear that no one could help him now.

Alexis was surprised when Gregory insisted Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) needed to stay out of the loop.

Although Alexis was sorry for upsetting Gregory, she wasn’t sorry for being concerned about him. Gregory looked somber as he walked out of Alexis’ office.

Back at the hospital, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) told Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) that Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) was blocking his attempt to take Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) home.

Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) acted like this was outrageous and tried to guarantee that the baby would be cared for, but Diane acted like his guarantee would make things worse.

Laura Collins (Genie Francis) admitted they couldn’t discount Esme’s rights as the mother and recognized the social services worker who appeared.

Esme had filed a motion to maintain custody once she was back in Spring Ridge, so Ace would be kept in the nursery until then.

Spencer got all riled up, but he eventually surrendered the baby – though he agreed with Victor about this battle not being over yet.

Diane also checked into the Spring Ridge situation and determined that there was indeed nothing stopping Esme from taking her baby back there for up to 18 months.

Since Spencer was facing a tough custody fight, the best thing would be to get Esme on board with his help.

In Esme’s room, she was pleased to see Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), but Liz didn’t think that’d be the case for much longer.

Liz came clean about how she wound up helping Nikolas hold Esme captive at Wyndemere, so Esme was stunned.

However, Elizabeth made it clear that she didn’t owe Esme an apology – only an explanation.

Esme got updates on how she jumped off the turret and put her child at risk, so she wondered if she had wanted this baby or if she got locked up for trying to get rid of him.

Elizabeth pointed out that Esme had left the old version of herself behind.

It was up to Esme to decide what to do with her fresh start, so Spencer walked in and insisted he couldn’t have said it better himself.

After Liz left the room, Esme ranted about Spencer not being Ace’s father.

Now that Esme knew Nikolas locked her up, she didn’t consider him to be Ace’s father either.

Spencer assured Esme that he didn’t know anything about her time in captivity and pushed her to do what was best for the baby.

Although Spencer didn’t think his brother belonged in prison, Esme refused to let Ace be anywhere near him since he was no better than Nikolas.

Over with Victor again, he cornered Liz to demand answers about Nikolas whereabouts and threatened her with the proof he still had against her.

Elizabeth had no clue where Nik was and pointed out Victor’s leverage would be useless soon.

General Hospital spoilers say Victor will have to find another path to Nikolas answers, so stay tuned to ABC’s GH.
