General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the disappearance of Nikolas Cassadine’s (Adam Huss) body could set up a new beginning. Many GH fans were upset over the show’s decision to kill Nikolas off, but maybe Nik isn’t as dead as Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) thought!
It always seemed like a shame to get rid of Nikolas permanently when they could just rest the character instead.
The writing for Nikolas has been atrocious and quite extreme, so they may want to dial down his sinister side next time around.
Some viewers were also never sold on Marcus Coloma as a Nikolas recast.
Adam Huss filled in as a temporary replacement, but the show might want to put a little more effort into finding a new actor for the next Nikolas era.
Of course, some fans are holding out hope that Tyler Christopher might return as Nikolas one day – and you never know!
That would still serve as a reboot and lead Nikolas into the new beginning that’s been set up for him.
After all, GH writers are already downplaying Nikolas’ transgressions by having Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) feel such tremendous guilt.
Spencer hates that he let Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) use him to drive his father away.
However, no one put a gun to Nikolas’ head and forced him to sleep with Esme. Nikolas made that decision for himself and got Esme pregnant in the process.
Never mind the fact that Esme was way too young for Nikolas and involved with Nik’s own son!
Nikolas also kept his “baby mama” hostage and then tried to recruit Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) mother to make Esme’s memory loss permanent.
All of that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the chaos and destruction Nikolas has caused.
Nikolas shouldn’t get a pass for the suffering he’s put Spencer, Ava and even Elizabeth through.
The show wrote Nikolas into a corner, but his vanishing act could offer a chance at redemption and a fresh start.
It’s possible someone moved Nikolas’ body from the tack room, but it’s equally possible he’s alive and in hiding somewhere.
If Nikolas indeed survived, maybe he’ll return in the form of a recast when the time is right and get the proper character reboot.
General Hospital spoilers say some Nikolas updates are needed, so stay tuned to see if good news is brewing for this Cassadine family member.
