General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) could find herself with great power soon. GH fans know the focus has been on Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) as Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) potential bone marrow donor match, but that may be a case of misdirection.
Nina has gotten her hopes up too high when it comes to being the one to save Willow’s life.
It feels like the writers are setting Nina up for terrible news and some panic when reality sets in.
Nina feels like she could be Willow’s last shot at survival, but what about Liesl?
Perhaps the crushing blow of not being a match could be followed by renewed hope that Obrecht will come through.
Although Liesl is a bit older than doctors would prefer for a bone marrow transplant, this is an emergency situation.
If Obrecht is a match and has the ability to come to Willow’s rescue, then she’ll get that chance.
Liesl is in good physical health, so there’s no reason she can’t be the one to save the day.
It would be a great way to help Willow get to know Obrecht now that they’re family.
Liesl was devastated when Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) died due to “The Hook’s” venom, but she might have an opportunity to make sure Nina’s daughter survives and thrives.
Of course, Obrecht might take things a step further if she decides to use the situation to Nina’s advantage.
Considering Liesl nearly killed Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) in her hospital room to avenge Britt, she’s a character who’s capable of anything – especially when someone she loves is involved.
It’s easy to imagine Obrecht paying a visit to Willow’s room if she turns out to be a match.
Liesl might bargain for Nina’s spot in Willow’s life as well as the lives of Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and her unborn child.
Naturally, Obrecht might clarify that she’s not going to hold her bone marrow hostage.
It’s not like Liesl would let Nina’s daughter die for any reason, but she could still try to strike a deal.
In other words, Liesl may come to Willow and point out that she’s about to do her a life-saving favor.
The least Willow can do is open her heart to Nina in exchange, even if it’s just a crack at first.
Obrecht may plead for Nina’s sake – and if she does, that might line up with GH spoilers for the week of January 23-27.
Willow will face a huge decision, so she may have to decide if she’ll grant Liesl’s request.
In exchange for Obrecht’s bone marrow donation, Willow might agree to try bonding with Nina and allowing her to see her grandchildren.
Liesl will be in the prime position to negotiate for Nina if she’s indeed a bone marrow donor match.
