In tonight’s Magnum P.I. episode, Magnum and Higgins take on interesting cases. They acted as bounty hunters to trace a skip. Higgins had to wear a chicken costume and hand out fliers to a nearby chicken restaurant in order to stand outside of a favorite pawn shop to track down their skip.
They got their guy, but they lost their deposit on the chicken costume. It got ripped in their chase. Magnum also injured his shoulder. He has to go to the hospital for it. They gave him an arm sling. He chose not to wear it. He said some rest and Tylenol was all he needed to get better.
Magnum was leaving the hospital when he noticed a young kid putting fliers in the car windows. The kid’s name is Jacob Fischer. He’s Amish. He came to Hawaii because he was trying to track down his sister, Hannah. Hannah came to Hawaii for her Rum Springa. She was seventeen.
She was a kid herself and she wanted to see the country while she could. Everything was fine at first after she landed. She sent letters back home to her family. She talked about her experience. She seemed so happy and then one day she said in her letter that she was never coming back.
Jacob didn’t believe that Hannah would just walk away from their life or him. He told his parents he was going to visit his uncle when secretly he bought a ticket from Pennsylvania to Hawaii. He then bought a cell phone. He got help from a lady at a print shop to make fliers in search of his sister.
He wanted to find her and try to bring her back home. Magnum took pity on him. He agreed to help Jacob find Hannah. Only there was a catch. He told the young man that first they were going to notify his parents where he was and then they were going to track down his sister.
That is if his sister wants to go home with him. If they find her and she doesn’t want to leave her new life, they were going to have to send Jacob on his way back without her.
Jacob agreed to everything. It’s not like he has a choice. He needed help in finding his sister because he felt something was off with her and he wasn’t wrong. His sister had a job, a roommate, and even a dog that she walked away from all at once because she fell in with some sketchy people. She’s taken part in numerous crimes since then.
Hannah and her new friends stole a car from a guy that tried to pick her up at the bar. She pretended to get drunk off of her club soda and so the skeezes came out and they were taking her to their car when he got jumped by her partners. Hannah has also taken part in an armed robbery of a weed dispensary.
She was wanted for a lot of larceny. She’s been a part of a crimewave with this group of guys. They had another young girl helping them first only she got caught. She was now in prison and she wasn’t saying any names because she’s deathly afraid of what they might do to her if she talks.
She wouldn’t talk to cops, but Higgins wasn’t a cop. She went to the prison. She sought an audience with the girl before Hannah and so she got her story. It turns out this group of guys were promising young girls quick and easy money. The other girl was barely making ends meet.
Hannah had just lost her job and was looking for a new one. Then they were threatening these girls. Hannah was still new to the English world. She didn’t know anything about clothes, bars, or even Taylor Swift until her roommate started teaching her. And now she was committing felonies.
Well, one crime has led to a lot of people being angry with Hannah. This was a problem because they tracked her down and they killed some of her friends. Hannah was on the run. The bad guys were looking for her. The good guys were looking for her. Then Hannah’s brother snuck out of the house.
He had been caught out lying. His real name is Saul. He was fourteen. His parents were worried sick about him and they’re worrying even more now that they know he’s in Hawaii. And so Saul snuck out of the house to keep looking for Hannah.
His fliers caught the wrong person’s attention. They called him saying they found his sister when really it was a trap. They grabbed up Saul and they told Magnum they want what was taken from them or the boy dies. Only Magnum and Higgins found Hannah. She doesn’t have the money.
Her crew got hit by someone a few days before they got taken out. Whoever robbed them might also be a former crew member. One that Magnum and Higgins won’t able to trace in time to save Saul. And so Magnum would later lie on the phone that he has the money.
He and Higgins went to the meeting point with the thugs’ boss as their prisoner. They all agreed to an equal trade. Their boss for Saul. There were threats about how they were going to regret this, but they got the boy back and he was reunited with his sister. The same sister that will not face charges from HPD because she was underage.
And later at the Marine Ball, TC ran into a beautiful woman and she became his date. Rick helped set that up. Also, Rick’s date was Susie. They were both celebrating their first time without the baby in six months. The only ones not there were Magnum and Higgins. They took the Fischer siblings to the beach.
