The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 22, reveal that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) remained hopeful that Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) finally heard him when it came to who Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) really was.
Steffy pointed out that Hope was the one who kissed Thomas, so Liam acknowledged that was true and felt this was really about Hope’s choices. Once Steffy mentioned the signed divorce papers, she wondered if Liam wanted Hope back now that she’d seemingly had an epiphany.
Steffy asked if Liam was willing to forgive Hope and repair their marriage, but Liam suggested it wasn’t that simple. Instead, Liam focused on how he still cared for Hope’s well-being and wanted her to find her true self again.
At the cabin on Tuesday’s B&B episode, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) pushed Hope to end things with Thomas and put her family with Liam back together.
Brooke also felt that maybe Hope was trying to justify her unfaithfulness by making excuses about Liam’s divided heart. Since the divorce papers hadn’t been filed, Brooke still believed Liam and Hope could have a future as a couple.
Hope said seeing Beth Spencer (Jordyn Lynn Ariza) with her dad at the party had an impact on her. That led to Hope admitting she was wrong for what she did, but she was also honest about her feelings for Thomas – who loved her fully with his whole heart.
However, Hope thought Brooke might be right about how she was looking for excuses for her behavior.
Liam reminded Hope of all the pain Thomas caused earlier – and although Hope believed Thomas had changed, she felt she had changed too and wasn’t sure she recognized herself anymore.
Only Brooke and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) knew the extent of how far things had gone between Hope and Thomas, so Brooke suggested that was good news. Hope made it clear that it was no one else’s business before Brooke said she was happy to see her becoming herself again.
Although Hope suggested they’d have to see if it was too late, Brooke assured Hope that it was never too late and added that the Logans never give up!
After Brooke offered another reminder about the unfiled divorce papers, she reiterated that it was never too late and left Hope looking determined. Hope said Brooke was right and rushed out the door, so Brooke smiled before looking pensive.
At Forrester Creations, RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) interrupted Ridge’s attempt to question Thomas about his relationship with Hope. That led to RJ insisting that he really thought Hope should go back to Liam, especially after seeing them as the birthday party together.
Thomas promised that he wouldn’t be the one to hurt Hope – not ever again. Once Thomas left, RJ gave Ridge a leftover cupcake and told his dad that Hope had a family worth fighting for.
When Brooke appeared, she agreed and hinted that Hope thought so, too. Brooke seemed pleased since this might not be the end for Hope and Liam.
At Thomas’ place, he created a romantic setup with candles just before Hope arrived. After Thomas admitted he missed Hope and dove in for a kiss, she stiffened up and seemed uneasy over the lip lock.
Thomas asked what was wrong, so Hope started crying about how she didn’t know what she was doing or what they’d done.
When Thomas pushed Hope to tell him what happened at the party, she confessed that she was reminded of all the hurtful things they’d been through.
Thomas realized Hope meant things that were his fault, but he tried to tell her that they got past all that.
Once Thomas insisted he loved Hope and wanted a life with her, Hope said it was just hard being with Beth and Liam earlier – their little family unit.
Hope also explained how Liam helped her remember all the suffering they went through when they thought they lost Beth – and how Thomas kept the truth quiet.
Thomas argued that he was a different person now and that Hope had told him that over and over again.
After Thomas asked if Liam got in Hope’s head, she pointed out that everything Liam said was true. Thomas thought for a moment and guessed there was only one thing he could do.
