The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers update for Wednesday, August 23, points to Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) shocking admission. As Liam continues his conversation with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), he’ll come clean about something that leaves his ex-wife floored.
Once Liam filled Steffy in on Hope Logan’s (Annika Noelle) realization about Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and all the pain he’d caused, Steffy wondered what this meant for Liam’s fractured marriage.
Since Liam and Hope still haven’t filed divorce papers, Steffy clearly thought this might lead to a new beginning for the duo. It wouldn’t shock Steffy if Liam came clean about that since that was her assumption to begin with.
There’ll have to be another shocking confession instead, so Liam might repeat his love declaration for Steffy and admit he’d rather have a do-over with her instead of trying to repair his current relationship.
Although Liam has fond memories of the life he built with Hope, he may act like his memories with Steffy matter more. Liam might confess that he can’t stop thinking about what might’ve been and what could still be if Steffy gave him another chance.
Of course, Liam may reiterate that he respects the boundaries of Steffy’s marriage – even if that’s obviously not true.
If Liam genuinely respected Steffy’s union with John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), then he wouldn’t have planted those kisses – and he wouldn’t be making moves to pursue her now either.
Steffy may once again become unsettled by the end of this conversation with Liam. It could end with Steffy clarifying that she’s still married to Finn and pointing out that Liam’s still married to Hope, too.
Perhaps Steffy will give Liam another shove toward Hope at the cabin since he’ll indeed wind up there soon enough.
In the meantime, Thomas won’t want Hope to feel trapped or suffocated by his feelings for her in any way.
Hope just gave Thomas updates on the epiphany she had thanks to Liam, so Thomas is starting to realize this means bad news for his own romantic future with her.
B&B fans know Thomas has vowed to never hurt Hope again, so he’ll keep that promise and refuse to hinder a “Lope” family reunion.
Thomas will understand why his history is an issue and will be sorry that it’s tainted this new opportunity at love.
Although Thomas may feel like Liam’s grudge is clouding Hope’s judgment now, he won’t give her any new reasons to think the worst of him. All Thomas will do is set Hope free and assure her that he won’t chase after her or cause any more problems.
Once Hope exits, Thomas will wrestle with some tough emotions. It’ll be hard for Thomas to get so close to the romance he’s always wanted – only to have it yanked away because of mistakes he made in the past.
Back at the cabin, Hope and Liam will meet up once more for an emotional discussion about the state of their marriage. Liam will confide how hard it is for him to forgive Hope, so they’ll have to figure out what that means for them moving forward.
