The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 3, teases that Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) will give Daniel Romalotti Jr (Michael Graziadei) a pep talk and urge him not to bottle up his feelings again. Daniel will promise not to before bidding Danny farewell ahead of his flight.
Soon after, Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) will show up at Crimson Lights to give Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) advice ahead of their adoption meeting.
When Christine runs into Danny on the patio, he’ll agree to stick around so they can talk after she’s done advising Tessa and Mariah.
Danny will eavesdrop as Christine encourages the potential adoptive moms to be themselves and speak from the heart.
Once Danny flashes back to the highs and lows of his romance with Christine, she’ll join him on the patio again.
Christine will get the wrong idea about Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) recent social media post, so Danny will act like they’re not that close and are just teammates as well as co-parents.
After Christine rants about Phyllis’ past deception and how she tried to kill her, Danny will take her hand and apologize for her pain.
Christine won’t blame Danny and will think it’s good that they both found happiness – even if it wasn’t with each other.
Once Christine talks about her solid marriage to Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), Danny will admit he’s seeing someone casually.
However, Danny will point out that he always has room in his life for a dear friend.
Christine will agree that they should stay in better touch and will plan to come see Danny at a concert soon. Since Danny and Christine will have so much more to discuss, she’ll offer to drive him to the airport.
At Newman Media, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will sense that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is distracted and not quite herself.
Victoria will eventually confide a bit over coffee and mention that there are some extremely complicated factors going on with Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind).
Nate will acknowledge that he’s not a parent himself, but he’ll speak from personal experience as someone’s child and assure Victoria that her son will always love, admire and respect her.
After Nate suggests giving Johnny some space and showing trust, he’ll add that it might stop Johnny from pulling too far away.
Victoria will thank Nate for his help before returning to her office.
At Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) apartment, she’ll sense that something’s wrong when Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) arrives and asks for news on Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) recent project.
Billy will downplay his personal problems, but Chelsea will keep at it until he admits Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) thinks they might be done.
Chelsea will freak out and worry this is because Billy’s been spending too much time with her, but Billy will insist that’s not why they fell apart.
After Billy takes all the blame, Chelsea will wonder if he’s really just going to give up.
Billy will act like Lily was trying to let him down gently, but Chelsea will push him to find Lily and lay out all the reasons why they should stay together.
Once Chelsea urges Billy to be passionate and sincere, she’ll reflect on her second chance and tell Billy to go get his own.
Billy will decide Chelsea’s right, so he’ll text Lily on Tuesday’s Y&R episode and ask if they can meet.
At Society, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will spot Lily as she walks in, so she’ll join him at table and discuss how the holidays went.
After Nick apologizes on behalf of Newman for the whole situation with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), Lily will insist she knows he had no part in Nate’s scheme with Victoria.
Lily will reflect on getting hurt and having to roll with it, so Nick will wonder if they’re talking about Nate or Billy now.
Although Nick will be willing to listen, Lily will decline to open up.
Before Nick leaves, he’ll tell Lily that he’s impressed with what she’s done at Chancellor-Winters.
Nick will be proud of Lily for leading with integrity and dignity, so she’ll be grateful for the kind words.
Once Nick heads out, Lily will get a notification on her phone and see that Billy wants to meet up with her.
That’ll lead to Billy pouring his heart out to Lily at The Glam Club.
Billy will believe their relationship is worth saving, so he’ll be willing to fight for Lily and everything they have.
After Billy asks for one more chance, Lily will point out how much it hurt when Billy didn’t put the effort in and made her feel like her feelings didn’t matter.
Billy will get that he messed up and will be so sorry.
Once Billy says he’ll do whatever it takes, he’ll offer to make a couples therapy appointment today and do anything else Lily needs him to do.
Billy will think they’ve been through too much to stop trying now, so Lily will agree that they owe it to themselves to keep trying.
As Lily takes Billy’s hands in her own, she’ll offer a sad smile.
Back at Chelsea’s apartment, she’ll get updates from Connor via text.
Connor will hope they can have pizza with Johnny this week, so Chelsea will contemplate sending Billy a message before texting Victoria instead.
When Victoria realizes Chelsea and Connor want to have pizza with Johnny, she’ll start to shut down the idea and type out that Johnny has homework.
Once Victoria rethinks it and deletes what she wrote, she’ll text Chelsea back about setting up a night that works for all of them.
