Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 5, reveals that Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer) hurried to put the stolen necklace back in his pocket when he heard Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) entering the Horton house.
Once Hope walked in the living room, she wondered who was standing in front of her.
After he said his name was Doug Williams, Hope fired back with a “how dare you” and acted like he was disrespecting her father’s memory.
However, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) popped up to explain this was Doug Williams’ (Bill Hayes) grandson and namesake.
After Doug backed her up, Julie wanted to show Hope the time capsule contents – especially the necklace.
Hope delayed that until later since she wanted to head to the cemetery and say goodbye to Doug.
Next on Thursday’s Days episode, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) returned to the Horton house, where they met Doug and almost told Julie about the stolen jewelry.
Doug piped up hoping he could get something to eat, so Julie dashed off to the kitchen.
Marie Horton (Maree Cheatham) and Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) thought it was best to hold off on giving Julie necklace theft updates, so Doug relayed that news to Ciara and Lucas.
At the pub on Thursday’s Days episode, Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) ran into Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and offered his condolences over Doug’s passing.
Philip also found out Shawn and Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) were divorcing, so he assured Shawn that he was truly sorry.
Talk eventually turned to Philip going up against Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) for control of Titan with Stephanie Johnson’s (Abigail Klein) PR help.
Shawn knew Titan was in Philip’s DNA – not to mention Xander was a menace to society. After Shawn said he hoped Philip won this Titan fight, Philip appreciated that.
In the cemetery, Hope said a tearful farewell at Doug’s grave before Jennifer appeared.
Although Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) didn’t wake up after all, Hope couldn’t leave him too soon after he squeezed her hand.
Jennifer knew Doug would understand better than anyone, so she assured Hope of that.
The conversation shifted to Doug’s grandson, so Hope admitted she didn’t trust him and wondered if anyone had even checked out his story.
Something about all this didn’t sit right with Hope, so she asked Jennifer to keep an eye on Doug once she went back to Bo’s facility.
Later, Hope reunited with Shawn and Ciara for some emotional moments together in the cemetery.
Back at the Horton house on Thursday’s Days episode, Lucas and Julie were laughing with Doug over some funny family stories when Jennifer returned.
They were all munching on sliders and Grandma Alice Horton’s (Frances Reid) doughnuts, so Doug offered the plate to Jennifer and got her to take a doughnut for herself.
Jennifer flashed back to Hope’s warning about Doug before biting into the doughnut while looking pensive.
At the townhouse on Thursday’s DOOL show, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) found out that Belle and Shawn were ending their marriage, so she brought out a tray of cookies and ice cream to cheer her daughter up.
Belle eventually called Claire Brady (last played by Isabel Durant) and prepared to tell her about her parents’ imminent divorce.
At the Body & Soul office, Xander showed up and pushed Stephanie to stop helping Philip win in the court of public opinion.
There was some talk about the puff pieces that were spinning things in Philip’s favor, so Xander offered Stephanie double the money to work for him instead.
Stephanie refused, so Xander acted like maybe she was trying to get back in Philip’s bed or perhaps even become the new Titan queen by his side.
Once Stephanie shut down those predictions and threw Xander out, she brought Philip up to speed in the aftermath.
Now Stephanie was even more fired up about helping Philip wrestle Titan control away from Xander, so Philip was glad to hear that.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Stephanie will keep doing everything she can to help Philip emerge victorious, so stay tuned.
