General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) has mostly focused on repairing marriage to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) ever since her SEC secret blew up. That plan isn’t working out very well, but it’s probably the relationship Nina feels she has the best chance of saving right now.
Since Sonny isn’t budging, Nina may shift gears at some point and turn her attention back to Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).
Perhaps Nina is hoping that if she gives Willow a chance to cool off, they can find another path forward.
Of course, there’s more at stake for Nina than just her relationship with Willow.
Since Willow and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) control Nina’s access to her grandkids, that’s something else to keep in mind.
There’s a lot riding on whether Nina can repair the damage with Willow, who’s pretty fed up with her at this point.
Willow’s bond with Nina wasn’t exactly rock solid to begin with, but Nina’s latest deception really shattered any trust they were building toward in a big way.
What happens now that Nina and Willow’s relationship has hit rock bottom? Is there any way to salvage this opportunity at a mother-daughter connection?
It seems like there may only be one writing strategy that can undo all the destruction – and it involves injecting some danger into the story!
For example, Nina could land in a life-threatening situation – maybe due to vengeful Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) going too far or through all the mob drama that’s erupting.
Willow might feel differently about her decision to shut Nina out of her life when faced with the possibility of losing her birth mom forever.
The show could let Nina struggle to survive at GH and allow it to serve as a turning point in Willow’s heart.
Another option might be for Nina to save Willow or the kids from danger instead.
If Nina steps up as a hero, that could be another tactic to start changing Willow’s view of her again.
If Nina does something heroic AND lands in the hospital, that’d be even better!
No matter how it plays out, some danger for Nina may be the only way Willow will consider forgiving her and creating a bond.
