One of the most intriguing storylines during Tracker’s Season 1 was Colter Shaw’s family history. While fans got to meet both of the lead character’s siblings during the first season of the series, it sounds like they’ll both make a major comeback in Season 2.
Tracker Season 2: Justin Hartley Announces Jensen Ackles’s Return
Colter Shaw himself, Justin Hartley, who not only stars in Tracker but also acts as executive producer, confirmed recently that older brother Russell Shaw would be returning to the series, in the new season.
Hartley announced that Jensen Ackles will be reprising the role during the Tracker panel at CBS’ 2024 TCA Summer Press Tour this past July 13.
In fact, Elwood Reid, Tracker’s showrunner also announced that Ackles would be back for “more than one” show.
Tracker Season 2: Dory Shaw Will Make A Comeback, Too!
Looks like fans should gear up for more family drama on the series, as Russell isn’t the only Shaw sibling set for a comeback during Tracker’s Season 2.
Elwood also confirmed to TV Line that actress Melissa Roxburgh, who plays Colter’s little sis, Dory Shaw, will reprise the role next season. Elwood notes during the Tracker panel at CBS’ 2024 TCA Summer Press Tour that the show will “unpeel some more stuff with his sister.”
CBS also recently announced some premiere dates for their 2024 fall schedule, so fans need to mark their calendars for Sunday, October 27, which will be the official start of Tracker’s Season 2.
Still, unlike Season 1, the show will now be airing at 8 p.m. (ET) on Sundays, rather than 9 p.m. (ET). It’s important to note that the series will have a special airtime of 8:30 p.m. (ET) for its Season 2 premiere on October 27.
Some fans may be a bit saddened by the news that they’ll have to wait so long into the fall for Tracker’s newest season; however, it looks like CBS is hoping to create fewer repeated episodes in the 2024-2025 schedule and thus fewer hiatuses.
