In tonight’s Chicago Med episode, Sharon Goodwin visited her stabber in prison. Her attacker was serving a long sentence for attempted murder. She also stalked Sharon for months before she carried out her plan. She’s since been put on anti-psychotics and even became religious.

She invited Sharon to the prison to apologize. She also wanted to know if Sharon could ever forgive her. The answer to that was “no”. Sharon was terrorized and she was never going to forgive someone that made her doubt herself. Doubt her own sanity. Sharon walked away from the encounter knowing that the woman in prison deserved to be there.

Sharon returned to work. She was notified by the hospital board. They said that Dr. Hayes’s departure was going to create a financial deficit. They needed to make up the money elsewhere. Which was when someone came up with the idea of budget cuts. Miranda made the cuts.

She then asked Sharon to carry them out and Sharon knew right then that she was being blamed for the expose against Hayes. It was the only reason they asked her to personally demote her boyfriend. The man she lives with.

Besides being her partner, Dr. Dennis Washington was the head of oncology. He’s been at the hospital for twenty years. He brought in a lot of patients and frankly cancer treatments are expensive. There was no need to get rid of him to save money. The hospital, or more like Miranda herself, just wanted to punish Sharon.

It was Sharon that took the complaint to the board. It was Sharon that advocated for harsher punishments against Hayes. There were some that felt that she should have done more to quash the rumors and maybe there wouldn’t have been an expose in the newspaper.

Hayes wasn’t just done at the hospital. He was done everywhere. No nurses or female doctors wanted to work with him. The board could have taken direct action against him and they didn’t.

They now appear as if they tried to cover up what happened. They could be sued. They also wanted to punish everyone that didn’t shield them. Like Sharon. Sharon was being punished. She has to fire people needed at the hospital. It was all chaotic and Dr. Hannah Asher was bound to make it more so. She wasn’t back on heroin, but she was pregnant.

Asher had to have an uncomfortable conversation with her sister, Lizzy. Lizzy has wanted a baby for so long. She tried IVF. Her baby was stillborn. She needed surgery afterwards and she was forced to get a hysterectomy. Asher offered to pay for a surrogate. Lizzy didn’t want to keep throwing money at the problem.

Asher then came up with the idea of being the surrogate herself. She talked to Lizzy about it. They were going to go through the journey together and that fell apart after Asher was turned down for being surrogate because she was pregnant.

The worst part being it wasn’t planned. Asher wasn’t even sure she wanted kids a year ago. She was now pregnant and Lizzy couldn’t help resenting her for it. It reminded her of all the times Asher broke her heart. Her sister needed help after their mom passed. She then needed her to get through medical school.

She also needed her as she was battling heroin addiction. Their relationship felt like it was never about Lizzy. It’s why she distanced herself after her little sister got clean. She needed time to focus on herself and she also needed to be angry with Asher for a while.

They reconnected because Lizzy tried everything else to have a baby. Nothing worked. She really wanted to be a mother and she turned to her sister for help. It was the first time that Lizzy went to Asher for help. It was usually the other way around. Asher didn’t mind because she wanted her sister back.

She did everything she could to help. She was willing to bankrupt herself so that Lizzy could be a mother. She was willing to destroy her own body for it. It just wouldn’t change the fact that she was now pregnant and Lizzy wasn’t.

Asher got into an argument with Lizzy. She asked if there was a part of her that was at least happy that Asher was having a baby. No, there isn’t. Lizzy couldn’t help feel like Asher was too self-centered to see how she was hurting anyone else. She stormed out. Asher didn’t know what to do or who to turn to.

She knew she wanted her baby. She also knew that she had to tell the father. She and Dr. Ripley were no longer together. He was still a great guy. He loves kids. He actually got pulled off a case because he advocated for a child that wasn’t his patient.

Ripley’s patient had been Alea Lancer. She’s been fighting cancer for years. She tried everything. This included experimental stuff that her billionaire father could afford. It wasn’t working.

She was dying and still her father couldn’t give up. Alea was his only child. He even went as far as bribing the organ donation committee in the hopes of getting Alea a new set of lungs. It would buy her months rather than years. She was still going to die before she reached adulthood. Alea also heard that he practically stole the lungs from another patient. And so she put her foot down.

Alea refused to take the lungs. She wanted to spend what little time she has with her dad. Noah got the lungs. He was rushed to the OR and Noah’s dad didn’t get the news.

He got into a fight with Griffin Lancer about Alea cutting the line. He grabbed a gun off of Lancer’s security team. He almost killed himself because he thought his son was dead and he wasn’t. Dr. Frost convinced him he wasn’t. Walter Macron turned himself over. He didn’t harm anyone. He might be able to get a much shorter sentence than he thought.

Noah got to live thanks to Alea. Dr. Ripley was starting over with Sadie. The woman he rescued from the well and Asher went to Dr. Archer because she needed to talk to someone.

Sharon also tried to demote her boyfriend. Only he wasn’t having it. He quit. Sharon let him quit. Their relationship was falling apart before this and the board’s decision gave them the chance to finally call it quits. Sharon turned to Bert her ex-husband to help her feel better about what a trying day it was.

Dr. Lenox’s brother didn’t have the hereditary disease that killed their mother, but she had it and she kept it from everyone.

And Dr. Charles’s daughter Ana came to the hospital after she tried to kill herself. She and her sister have both struggled talking to their dad because he often turns shrink on them.

He did it because his father killed himself. He wished he had saved him. Its why he tried to always save his girls. Charles was going to work on being a shrink around family. He also reassured Anna that she has nothing to be sorry for. She was going to get some help and her dad will be with her every step of the way.

THE END!
