In tonight’s Law & Order SVU, there was an open house of this beautiful brand new apartment. It was super expensive. There were plenty of influencers that showed up and one of those influencers was a good woman. Her name is Grace She saw another girl that was really drunk.
She enacted the buddy system. She pretended to be the drunk girl’s friend and she tried to sober her up. She found out her name is Skylar. Grace took her eyes off her for one second. It was enough for someone to drag Skylar into a room. Now, Grace still tried to help. She tried to knock down the door. She threatened to call the cops and security escorted her off the premises because they had received a complaint about her.
Grace did what she said. She called the cops. Captain Benson showed up with SVU. They locked down the party. They found Skylar still in the room and her assailant was gone.
The perp took the sheets from the bed. He also washed Skylar off in the shower. Skylar hadn’t just been drunk. She had been drugged. She was still out of it when the cops got her to the hospital for a rape kit. The downside was that no one saw the rapist. Grace just saw Skylar being dragged into the room. Not who was dragging her.
There was a creepy guy hanging around Skylar earlier at the party. Grace described him the best she could. The cops found him and questioned him. He admitted to creeping on Skylar. He just wasn’t the one to either drug or assault her. He was even willing to hand over his firstborn just to prove it.
He mentioned that the bartender was getting heavy-handed with the drinks for the women. He thought that could be their guy. The cops never saw a bartender. He must have left in the twenty-five minute window from when Grace called 911 to when they actually showed up.
Grace was hired to be at that party. She was just there to increase interest. She doesn’t sleep with anyone for pay. She was asexual. She has no interest in men or women.
The cops told her that showing up to parties like that were risky and she said life was risky for women. She couldn’t take an Uber much less go clubbing without risk so might as well do a job she loves and gets paid for. The influencers were just there for ambiance. The same goes for Skylar. She wasn’t there to sleep with anyone.
Skylar’s test came back that she was drugged. The apartment was brand new so DNA was found in the drain of that shower. It had Skylar’s DNA and that of two half-brothers. The property was owned and promoted by the Ellis brothers. They were Paul and Nathan Ellis.
They attacked Skylar together. One of them drugged her. The other pulled her into the room. Skylar doesn’t remember seeing anything after she got in that room. She just recalls feelings. She felt like she was being assaulted. The two brothers were too pro at this for this to be their first time.
The brothers were the sons of a corporate shark named Raymond Ellis. He’s been investigated by the feds. Nothing has ever stuck. He funded his sons real estate empire. He also helped get rid of a DUI investigation eight years ago for them. There was a female victim.
She was apparently dead when she got into the car. The coroner’s report stated it. The brothers assaulted her and killed her. They were getting rid of the body when they got into an accident. Despite the coroner’s report, the District Attorney buried the case of the dead girl.
The cop that investigated the matter also found himself buried under new complaints against him. He got demoted down to writing parking tickets and the brothers carried on with their lives. They throw these parties at their new properties to lure in women.
They then assault them at the party. Well, Nathan assaults them. Paul just watches. Paul was the one that lured the women in. He was the friendly and charming one. Nathan was called a reptile. Nathan makes his little brother watch. And Paul never reports it because he said Nathan protects him.
The cops got all of this out when they found other victims. The victims were all told to stay quiet by the brother’s lawyer, Marvin Gibbs. The same man that threw these parties. The one in charge of the guest list. Gibbs talked as he was being arrested.
He faked being a lawyer to scare the victims off. Paul saying that Nathan protects him meant he was protecting him against their father. Their father was scary. He came storming into the precinct while they were being questioned and he tried to bully Benson. And he found the wrong one.
The brothers took this to trial when suddenly Nathan’s story changed. Nathan accused his brother Paul of the rape and said he did this all on his own. Paul was so scared of his brother. He wasn’t even willing to question his lawyer that he shared with his brother because he knew the brother was running things.
Carisi approached Paul with just Benson at his side. They got him to open up. Paul admitted that he was just the lure. He started off as the lookout until Nathan insisted that he watches.
The dead girl from New Jersey was actually killed by the father. Paul was finally ready to tell the truth and he was knifed by an inmate. He survived, but someone leaked the conversation he had with the cops. It was a corrections officer that did it. Raymond was arrested for the New Jersey murder.
Nathan was found guilty of several rapes and conspiracy to commit rape thanks to Paul later testifying against him in return for a plea deal. Paul sent his family to prison. It took him forever to do the right thing.
