In tonight’s Match Me Abroad episode, there were a lot of people looking for love tonight. There were even some willing to enlist a matchmaker. These matchmakers helps people from all around the world to meet and find worthwhile love, but there’s a drawback. Sometimes the matches work out. S

ometimes they don’t. It wasn’t easy for everyone to blend cultures and so Amber’s take on flying into the Ireland was great. She went there excited. She loved the Irish countryside.

She loved accents. She felt like she was in a Jane Austen book and no one corrected her that the books were set in England. This is Dublin. And Dublin doesn’t want to be connected or compared to England in anyway.

The upside was that her date was really handsome.

His name is Keavan. They met at a mixer thrown by Katarina. They instantly vibed. Keaven later invited her out on their first official date. He wanted the date to be a surprise for Amber and she liked that.

She likes it when a man takes the lead. It showed how interested he was. As for the date itself, they were around alpacas. They led the furry creatures up a mountain. Amber got spit on by one of those alpacas. It didn’t ruin her makeup. She also found a way to laugh at herself and that put everyone at ease.

Amber was just worried that she might have been too boisterous on the date. She was loud. Keavan was much quieter. Will their different characters mesh well in the end? Then there was Harrold.

Harrold has tried a matchmaker before. It didn’t work out for him back then because he was a little too gun ho. His new matchmaker therefore wanted to ease him back into dating. Dolly set up a mock date. It was a learning moment. Dolly wanted to see Harrold’s strength and weaknesses. She found out that he loves telling dad jokes.

Harrold was also quick to say love. He said he loved his date’s smiles. They were warm smiles and that was nice. It was using the world “love” to describe someone you just met that was a bit of a red flag.

The same for when he told her that he got lost in her eyes. It wasn’t flirting. It was love-bombing. It was a major concern and that’s why Dolly had to interrupt the mock date. She asked Harrold to be confident if not flirty and he was reeking of desperation. Harrold wasn’t a bad guy. He was merely inexperienced.

The next one probably had too many experiences with first dates. Her name is Victoria. Victoria has gone on seventy-five first dates. They never pan out for her. It’s a real mystery because Victoria was lovely. She has a resting happy face. She was giving all her love to her dog-child and now she was ready for people.

She now considers herself a professional dater. It made her want to extend her dating pool from small NYC. She too was heading towards Ireland. Her father’s side of the family was Irish. She also liked their pub lifestyle that she thought would go well with her career.

Her matmaker was the one that was worried. Victoria being a people pleaser indicated that she was willing to adapt to whoever was in front of her. She wasn’t going to be honest about her interests and possibly her boundaries.

That’s not going to help her find love. There was also the background history. Victoria’s parents are both gone now. She tends to bring that up on the first date. She doesn’t mention much that her father was in prison for drugs and that her grandmother raised her. Not that it stopped her from frequently visiting her dad at prison.

It does explain why she was such a happy and cheerful person. She had to find the silver lining as a kid in order for the world to make sense. Only there were drawbacks to her persona. She described herself as eclectic in that she loves a little of everything and does she? Does she really? Or is that something else she can’t make up her mind about?

Her matchmaker was going to have her hands fill while she figured out Victoria. Monica in the meantime had a mock date. Yes, Harrold wasn’t alone in getting a mock date.

The same was happening to Monica down in Brazil. Monica came to Brazil to meet Bruno. They connected online and they seemed to hit it off. It was Monica’s matchmaker that was concerned.

She wanted to Monica to explore her options. Just in case the relationship with Bruno isn’t as great in real life as she’s building up in her head. She set Monica up on a mock date to see what’s really important to Monica. Looks or personality? Harrold’s mock date didn’t go well. His matchmaker gave him some much needed feedback.

Harold needed to show confidence. His matchmaker along with his fake date helped him correct his posture. Smile without smiling too much. There was also a downside to Keavan.

Keavan lives with his parents, sister, and grandparents. It was a red flag for Amber. She wrote her date off as a momma’s boy. Someone that refuses to leave home because he loves someone cooking his meals, doing his laundry, and catering to him. Amber didn’t want to take on that role by being with Keavan. And she was afraid that’s what Keavan was really looking for.

Keavan was ready to settle down because he’s at that age. It wasn’t because he was ready for the next phase of his life. Which is okay but don’t waste Amber’s time. She was ready for that part.

She wanted to fall in love and build something with that loved one. She was afraid her date wanted her around to maintain his current lifestyle. It cast a shadow over the rest of their date. Then along comes Victoria ready to date another Irishman. Katrina notices right away that Victoria dresses as someone that doesn’t want to be seen.

She was hoping that Victoria’s date clothes were in the luggage, but she was also hoping that Victoria’s wish list for a partner was doable and that it wasn’t put together by her friends on what they think she should want.

THE END!
