NCIS was alerted about a possible abduction of a Marine. The Marine’s car was found abandoned. Her name is Sergeant Molly Delgado. Someone tried to warn her that they saw someone hiding in the back of her car, but the Good Samaritan’s approach was a little off-putting. He came up behind her with a bat to warn her. She mistook him as a threat and beat the crap out of him before getting into her car. She didn’t drive far before the true threat revealed himself. There was evidence of a fight both in the car and out of it. There were also signs that the victim took off on foot to get away from the perp.

There was one other piece of evidence. It seemed odd. Given that it was antique. McGee used his antique app on his phone and he identified the weapon. It was a famous dueling pistol. It was the one Aaron Burr used to kill Alexander Hamilton. Torres first made fun of McGee for having the app and then he was left surprised by this piece of history. He was huge fan of the musical. He doesn’t normally love musicals as a genre. He just loves “Hamilton”. The others didn’t share that sentiment. Knight has never even seen a musical much less that one. She prefers it when people just talk.

Torres kept dropping “Hamilton” songs all the way until things got serious. They had found blood on the pistol. Kasie tested it and it belonged to Deputy Attorney General Brett Gaines. The Director wanted them to be careful on this case. He didn’t want any mistakes or anyone going rouge. He still hasn’t forgiven Parker for the last time. It’s also why he called Gaines ahead of time to warn him that NCIS was coming to talk to them. It’s a good thing too because the FBI wanted to dismiss NCIS from their case and Gaines wanted their help.

Molly wasn’t the victim at all. She was the perp. She abducted his wife and stole his prized pistol. She used it to knock him out. Molly was the kidnapper rather than kidnapped. She abducted Claire Gaines. It must have been Claire in the back of Molly’s car. Molly made a pit stop during the abduction. Which didn’t make sense. She also sent messages to someone during the abduction. She messaged her book club that Kasie initially thought was a conspiracy and turned out to be an actual book club.

Nothing about this abduction made sense. The team was getting nowhere. They also missed Barbara from Accounting theater group gala. She was really excited about it and they promised to all be there. Only they were chasing down leads during her first solo performance. Barbara was still so nice about it. She made sure to save Torres a slice of coconut cake because she knew it was his favorite. It was. It also made him feel incredibly guilty and it doesn’t help that they’ve gotten nowhere with the case.

They didn’t know where Molly or Claire were. Molly was a Marine Raider. She was the elite. She could hide out or head to a different country. The team was about to write her off when suddenly Molly showed up at their headquarters. She drove there and she parked in Director Vance’s parking spot. The Director was complaining when two agents came down. They noticed a bloody print on the truck. They were afraid of finding Claire’s body when instead they found the body of Neil Oken. Oken was former FBI.

He was trained to fight back. He and Molly fought each other to the death. The question was why? Molly wasn’t talking. She wasn’t telling them about Claire. Claire and could be dead for all they knew. Oken was at least explainable. Oken was fired from the FBI by Gaines. He could be out for revenge. He might have forced Molly to work with him and that’s why she ultimately killed him. What was used to force Molly’s head if it was forced at all? Knight was questioning Molly and she was just about to break her when the FBI came in.

The FBI claimed this was their case now. They arrested Molly. They were going to have no luck with her either and so Knight used Parker to sneak into the FBI building. They created a distraction. They used baked goods. The FBI Agents were eating everything delicious baked goods while Knight was talking to Molly again. It was revealed that Molly didn’t hurt Claire. She was saving her. Molly was a part of the an underground railroad for abused women. Claire was being hurt by her husband. He was too powerful for her to get traditional help.

Kasie had been right about the book club. It wasn’t really a book club. It was an entire network dedicated to helping women escape abuse. The FBI working with NCIS trapped Gaines. They caught him on attempted murder. He hired Oken then used Oken to find his wife. When that failed, he tried to frame Molly for a crime she never committed. Gaines was arrested and Molly was going to hide out for a bit. The work must continue and so she was going to hide away from the press until this blows over.

And Torres made it up to Barbara by having her singing at NCIS in front of her own crowd.
