In tonight’s Amazing Race episode, from Athens, they headed towards the fashion capital of Italy. They got to go to Milan. They could visit the oldest shopping mall in the world.
They also could create enough distance to climb up the leaderboard. The first flight out was the one everyone wanted. Most of them made it onto that flight. Taylor and Kyland did not. They had to take the second flight out. This created a forty-five minute lead for everyone on the first flight. They just had to maintain that lead and that was actually a lot harder than it sounded.
Their first task for the roadblock was to recreate a dress out of flowers. Again, fashion capital. Fashion was so important and the contestants forgot that for a while.
They thought this task would be easy. They thought all they had to do was stick the flowers in the proper place. Flower arrangement was just as hard as the many hours put into making fashion. Even fast-fashion couldn’t be done in less than five minutes. Chelsie’s dad also took a timeout to flirt with the female judge of this challenge.
Chelsie had to remind him to get back to making that dress. Adam also had a medical emergency. He was diabetic and, while he was fine with most of the challenges, standing out in the hot sun wasn’t good for him. He nearly passed out. He said felt like going to sleep. They had to give him juice.
They also tried to physically stop Adam from going back to the challenge. He wasn’t up for it. Joseph had wanted to take over. He made a case for it. Adam refused to give up. Adam demanded to finish what he started.
No one had passed the challenge by time that the others teams all caught. There was an opportunity and they let that opportunity pass. Jag and Jas still managed to finish first what must have been their ninth attempt.
They were off enjoying a medieval experience. Adam meanwhile kept needing something more to drink so he really should have switched off with Joseph. There comes a time when admitting a setback is not admitting defeat. Kyland was making a flower dress with the rest of them in spite of them having a forty-five minute lead over him and Taylor.
The next challenge wasn’t so hard for Jag and Jas. Yes, they still had to build things. They had building a medieval tower using tools and pieces that were already provided to them. It was a bit like a puzzle piece putting them all together. The boys were doing that while Izzy and Paige were catching up to second place. Adam did eventually finish the dress to the judge’s standards. He and his brother were coming in third. Then along came Chelsie and her dad. And once again in last place was Kyland and Taylor.
Jag and Jas finished building their watchtower. They then had to play tourney knights. Once they were done with that, they were off to build literal bridges. The bridges were the final bit for them if they wanted to move into first place. Izzy and Paige made it to the second stop. They waited a bit getting directions from a passersby before they set out on their journey. Hopefully, they were good directions or else that stop was going to cost them. They were all heading towards the medieval courtyard.
Some got lost while they were in the car. Jag and Jas looked like they were set to come in first in the whole leg again. They finished their bridge. They just had to make it to the pit stop. Izzy and Paige were right behind them. Then there was Joseph and Adam. Chelsie got lost on the road. She got there after Taylor did. It was a race between them on who would come first. They finished at medieval courtyard. They moved onto the bridge. Chelsie and Jack were the last to finish all the challenges.
They were a few minutes behind Taylor and Kyland. Both parties got lost at night. It was now nighttime and so similar street markers were lost, but Taylor and Kyland pulled off one last stand. They got to the pit stop before Chelsie and Jack. They were second to last place. They just weren’t eliminated. They get to fight on. Chelsie and the lovable Jack were now out of the game. The father and daughter were eliminated for coming dead last.
And that was it for Italy.
