General Hospital Friday, May 22 Recap: Britt Traps Liz & Flees with Rocco – Nina Skips Brennan’s Injection

General Hospital (GH) recap for Friday, May 22, reveals that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) forced Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) into a tight spot and ran off with Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) also decided against giving Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) another paralytic dose, so here’s how Friday’s episode went down.

In Brennan’s hospital room, Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) suggested being locked in was better than the alternative of Brennan getting locked up in Steinmauer.

Cullum mentioned that Brennan would soon be rotting at Turning Woods.

Meanwhile, Nina showed up at GH with a plant so she’d have an excuse to see Brennan again.

Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) thought she should deliver the next injection, but Nina stood her ground on being the one to do it.

When Nina entered Brennan’s room, Cullum was still there and quizzed her about all these Jack visits.

Nina acted like this was about compassion and got rid of Cullum before asking Brennan to blink answers to her questions.

“Takes…too…long…” Brennan managed to say.

Nina admitted she wasn’t expecting Brennan to be talking so soon and felt it was good to hear his voice.

Since Brennan was already starting to recover, Nina couldn’t go through with the injection and disposed of the syringe in the medical waste receptacle.

Over with Willow, she delighted Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) with the news that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) would return to her private facility instead of a state-run institution with higher security.

Willow also managed to get the charges against Anna dropped, but she clarified that Anna would have to be medically cleared at her facility before she could leave.

Cullum eventually interrupted, which gave him a chance to meet Congresswoman Cain.

Felicia and Willow learned that Cullum was looking for Rocco while fans saw Rocco plead with Britt to take him on the run.

In Britt’s office, she repeatedly rejected the idea of taking Rocco with her.

Britt didn’t want Rocco to watch her die, but he was adamant about coming along and protecting his family in the process.

Although Britt worried about Cullum and everyone else trying to find them, Rocco pointed out that he had a fake passport that Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) arranged for him.

Britt finally caved in, but she made Rocco promise that he’d reach out to his parents as soon as she died from her Huntington’s disease.

Elizabeth entered at one point, so Britt made up an excuse about the shadowing program to explain Rocco’s presence.

Rocco left with Britt’s keys and waited in her car while Liz grew suspicious of whatever Britt was up to.

Elizabeth ultimately found Rocco’s fake passport and confronted Britt, who grabbed Liz and forced her into a closet.

Once Britt trapped Elizabeth, she joined Rocco and smashed his phone along with her own.

Since Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) wondered what moved up Lulu’s getaway timeline, she explained that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was going to put her under surveillance.

Laura Collins (Genie Francis) called and demanded to see Lulu immediately, so she joined Lulu and Ethan at the park.

Dante had told Laura about Lulu’s plan to bolt with Rocco, so Laura grilled Lulu about it.

However, Laura respected Lulu’s decision to leave with Rocco if that was what she felt was best.

Laura couldn’t take Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke), so she asked Laura to look after her granddaughter.

In Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) office, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) nudged Sonny to move forward with eliminating Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

Laura arrived and spoke with Sonny privately about Lulu needing to leave Port Charles with Rocco.

Britt eventually called Sonny to say she was leaving town and decided to pass along some information.

After Britt confirmed that Sidwell killed Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton (Daniel Goddard), she revealed that Pascal (Marc Forget) helped cover it up.

Once Britt disconnected from Sonny, she got in her vehicle and ran over their phones to make sure they were truly destroyed.

Britt sped off in the car with Rocco while Lulu returned home with Ethan and realized Rocco’s fake passport was gone.

Lulu got Rocco’s voicemail and panicked since there was no sign of him in the house.

Although Lulu had been trying to help Rocco with the fake passport situation, she worried she’d given her son what he needed to escape.

In Dante’s office, “Nathan West” aka Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) suggested that one call to Sonny is all it’d take to help Rocco.

“Nathan” felt that Sonny could arrange for Rocco to go somewhere with no extradition where he’d never be found.

Dante didn’t like the idea of crossing that line, but “Nathan” acted like he already crossed it when he destroyed the evidence against Rocco.

“Nathan” argued that Cullum would make Rocco a target, so he pushed Dante to decide whether it’d be harder to lose his job or mourn his son.

Dante contemplated “Nathan’s” words later and was about to call Sonny when Lulu’s call came in.

After Dante answered, Lulu admitted Rocco was gone and that he’d taken his fake passport with him.

Since the last location on Rocco’s phone was GH, Dante rushed over there to find him.

Instead, Dante heard Elizabeth crying out in Britt’s office closet.

Once Dante freed her, Liz explained how Britt locked her up after she found Rocco’s fake passport and speculated they were leaving PC together.

General Hospital spoilers say the search for Britt and Rocco will heat up soon, so stay tuned.
